Kessel's fair in most aspects of the game, a good skater and possibly the best shooter in the game right now. He's no joke.

But lord knows I like a guy who can go into beast-mode like Hall can.

Both are certainly talented, but tough to compare as Kessel is closer to an Eberle type.

Your response is an even bigger joke. Seguin is listed as and was drafted as a Center. Is the 25 year old with 6.5 full seasons in the NHL who began play in the 06 season, currently the better player than the 21 year old who has only 2.5 seasons and began play in the 2010 season currently the better player? Probably. Kessels first two seasons - 152gp, 66pts, Seguins first two seasons- 155gp, 89pts. Who will turn out to be the better player at the end of their careers remains to be seen, Seguin already has a cup, and been to the finals twice. Perhaps before calling someone else's post a joke, you could think before making yours.

He's a winger! Who cares what he's listed as.

And Kessel got cancer, that's why his point totals are lower.

My post was apparently a "Joke" because I correctly listed him as a winger? To call him a current #1 centre is such a joke.

And again, if you guys can call Seguin and Hamilton franchise players before they play a game, I can criticize Seguin after 3 years in the NHL.

Not sure if she knew who he really was, or even cared, but a hush went over the crowd. I had to have what she said translated cause I couldn't understand a word she was saying with that thick accent.

I have a philosophy of treating everyone the same... I treat everyone like absolute sh1t, no matter what their gender/race/or financial status.

Oh but it was ok to call him a franchise player before he played a game?
- RogerRoeper

yeah it was terrible when the media did that.

Sooooo is your hate for Seguin because people still try to say he is better than hall, and was the clear winner of the Hall vs. Seguin debate of 2010? Cause obviously hall is better.
- ruttager17

Hall is better, of that we are agreed.

I don't hate Seguin either.

Just don't think he has done anything spectacular for there to be a debate.

That's the issue I have. People shouldn't have an issue criticizing Seguin at 21, when it was ok to call him a franchise player at 18 and guarantee he'd be much better than Kessel.

Even in the playoffs, all HNIC did was kiss Seguin's butt.

I would assume that we're going to see a line with MPS / Gordon / Jones

Seguin has a good contract? He makes more than Kessel and produces much less.
- RogerRoeper

Kessel's a year away from UFA where he'll get like 7M+

If Seguin gets 5.7 million, Kessel easily deserves 7+.

Wow, you are pretty butthurt over kessel aren't ya. Seguin was drafted as a center, and listed as such by the NHL, sorry that you disagree with the professionals. Way to play the cancer card and make excuses for Kessel. So because of the depth on the Bruins and the abundance of centers on the team pushing him to the wing this year, he is no longer a centerman? Or is this because this is the only year you have cared about hockey in the last 10?

Those professionals right now would classify him as a winger.

And not only was he called a centre, but a legit #1 centre...

And LOL about claiming bringing up cancer was an excuse.

seguin had 70 shots and 1 goal. He had bad puck luck. Scoring chances were all there. If he were shooting at Bickell's SH%, he'd have had 13G and 20P and outscored the conn smythe winner
- TheNugeIsHuge

blah blah blah...no offense but you can say the same for Hemmer...if he had someone elses stats he would be worth his 5M.

Arguements like that just don't hold water. and luck is just not tangible as a stat.

If Robbie Schremp didn't suk he woulda been an allstar.

Seguin just hasn't proven himself in the playoffs...even though he has been there. Look at Marchand, not as talented, but he performed in the playoffs every year.

I think he's gonna walk at the end of the year if Toronto can't land a legit #1 center to feed him the puck. I'd try and pluck Thorton out of San Jose. With his elite playmaking I can see Kessel being a perennial 40 goal scorer

70 shots on goal isn't performing? Don't ya wanna get the puck on net in the playoffs? Some loser once said "100% of the shots ya don't take are misses". just bad luck made 98.6% of his miss.
Also, Superman IV is on TV right now, and it has to be the absolute worst special effects I have seen in a movie. Like almost unwatchable.

performing is scoring...and it is not like this uncommon with him. his sh% the year before was 4%. sounds like he has bad processes in his head and cannot focus.

Again. marchand doesn't seem to choke...some people perform when the pressure is on...seguin has not shown he is able to yet.

no? Seguin had a 1.4 SH% in the playoffs. Hemsky had an 11% in the regular season. .3% off from his average.

A) He's 21.
B) He as 19 and a rookie when he played a lot of his playoff games
C) He had a 1.4 SH% in the playoffs this year. 70 shots. I don't think anyone had any more
