lol well thats just disrespectful to his family name

and yeah, no.. doesnt make sense.. we got gardiner, liles, franson, and to an extent phaneuf all as point producing d

rielly doesnt bring the shutdown d aspect the leasfs need

that and he will far better served getting his last year of jr in, playing at the WJC and hopefully moved to a contender so he can have a solid playoff run

then let him get accustomed to the pro game the following year on the marlies

then bring him up when liles' contract is up

no need to rush the kid.. common mistake made by the leafs over and over. look at the wonders it did for kadri

- Dozzer

Agreed. He doesnt bring something to the Leafs that is need right now. Le him develop properly with is final year in junior and a year in the marlies, maybe getting a couple NHL games in. Then see where he's at and where the team stands. You never know, a lot can change in two years.

Pretty sure bergerons case was probably worse
- Mapleleafs_91

I respect him for playing, I really do. I probably wouldn't have even left my house for some sunlight if I had his injuries. With that said it doesn't always make sense to play when you're hurt like that.

Well Mr. Hockey that knows all the subtleties of the game that makes you a much better talent evaluator than us all.... Who was Chara on the ice to defend?

Ding Ding Ding Kessel......

So what side of the ice did Chara play on?

Ding ding ding Kessel's?

But I guess JVR should have left his position and man to go get more hits on Chara than Bozak.......

- jribout

I wasn't the one who brought it up. And (frank) do not leave your wing.

That mantallty cost the Leafs a trip the the finals in 02'. Pat Quinn killed the chemistry to stuck guys on the team who were hurt and useless.
- RogerRoeper

Bergeron couldn't even win faceoffs anymore he was so hurt. I wonder if they would have been better without him in the last couple games of the Chicago series.

You guys are comparing apples to oranges, 2 totally different types of players.

IMO I would take JVR over Bozak if position didn't matter, but If you needed a center, most people would take Bozak - now if it was who has the best hair...well Bozo would take it hands down!!!!!

- Garnie

I'm pretty sure the Leafs were training JVR to play center.

I'd take JVR over bozak. Even at center.

Did we have any better depth at center? no.

200 lbs vs 195 lbs

give up on this argument... Bozak's one of the best forechecker's on the team. I could give a rats ass how hard he hits as long as he gets the puck when he does... and he quite often does.

well they openly suggested they'd do it to reporters, then didn't do it... so I'm gonna assume they tried it in practice and it didn't work...

OR... they realized the condensed season didn't allow for such tinkering.

either way, they elected not to do it.

No. This is hypthetical. If jvr was center half of the season, and bozak half, then I'd watch and evaluate.

Id be more than willing to admit I'm wrong if I were. And if it wasn't working I wouldn't leave it keep going. I'd obviously rather swollow my pride and win than pull an HH and comvince the world is wrong and I am right, when proven otherwise.
