"Oh, there goes Clarkson headed to the net, followed by Kadri and OH MY GOODNESS a triple sow-cow executed perfectly by clarkson to elude the smurfs defence."
"I don't know about you Glen, but I havnt seen skating like that since the olympics." - UsernameUnknown
"A bit wobbly on the landing, but otherwise, it was technically perfect."
"How did he manage to somersault over the Montreal player's head though, Glen?!?"
"Come on now, they are only 4'7"..." |

yup, exactly
we dont need his skills on the big club.. he isnt old enough to be a full timer on the marlies.. send him back to jr and let him dominate
he would have to outplay both liles and gardiner by a mile to make the leafs.. its not going to happen - Dozzer
Nonis needs to send him back to junior... and very clearly indicate to Hockey Canada that Reilly isn't a 5-6 defensman on the world junior team. In fact he's not a 3-4 defenseman on the junior team either.
He certainly be playing behind the likes of Doogie Hamilton or any of Spots old friends. |

None of that is going to matter much when we're playing against better teams. Boston and Ottawa got much better yesterday. - ThePresident
Ference, Khubodin, Horton, Jagr, Seguin, Peverly for Iginla and Erikson... I would not consider that much better since Boston's strength was knownas depth
Ryan and Macarthur for Alfie, Silveberg....I admit is better but they gave up the equivalent of a 2014 1st and a top prospect to get a little better...... |

Is it just me or...I don't understand Alfredsson's reasoning for leaving the Sens and joining the Wings. Supposedly to sign with a contender, these aren't the Wings of the last few years, they barely squeaked into the Playoffs last year. If you ask me, Ottawa is in a better position to contend than the Wings are, they've slowly been in decline (aging), over the last couple of years. Somebody should have given Alfie the memo. |

$2M difference when you consider taxes probably... and he only made $1M last year... maybe he felt slighted by Sens offer. |

Murray originally declined bozo's asking price...then Mickey Melnyk ordered him to agree to the demand...but by then it was too late |

Well I guess, if that's how you want to go out, seems like a dumb move to me. I'm sure he made enough money over his whole career, the guy had the chance to retire playing for one team as their captain, a rarity, oh well. I would choose the Sens simply for that reason, or just retire. |

and given he's already taken "hometown discounts" on 2 contracts for them when he could have made Millions more going to UFA, I think he just said "(frank) you guys" and called Detroit. |

Not exactly a team a player at 40 years old would pick to take a run for the cup, maybe 5 years ago, not now. It's not close to a sure thing, nothing is a sure thing, but other teams are definitely closer....Boston, Chicago, Pitts, even the team he left, Ottawa. |

not to mention 8 OT losses. Convert just 3 of those and they are alone in 4th for the season |

doubt any of those teams were interested or had the cap space...
HEHE maybe he forgot Detroit and Ottawa were in same division next year |

tax differential isn't that large... the players who have been playing for a while in the states (use Weiss and example) will have had their investments and income structured so as to minimize taxes.. and would come out 10-15% better at the most.
no way Alfie sees that differential... unless he's getting some form of under the table payment that accompanies his salary. |

I'm not so sure that Boston is better with Erikkson, Iginla and ? versus Jagr, Horton, Seguin and Peverly.
Agree that Ottawa is better off with Ryan than Alfredsson, but the question is probably more accurately would Ottawa be better with Ryan and Alfredsson or just Ryan? - BorjeFan4Ever
