Healthy is the big question on this signing. Too many years, too much money, he'll never come close to that contract but Devils needed somebody and had plenty of cap space (well, at the time )

THeir source was from their 2012 valuations, which are estimations by the way, which didn't take into account the massive payment they paid and the refinanced debt.

I'm a level headed person. I might cuss a little too much, but the instant elevation of arguments around here is a little too much for a guy my age.

I can't make fun of the Isles, I was a fan before the Devils ever came around and they were and can still be a great organization (especially when the move to Brooklyn!!). They have gone through some pretty bad times so I'm glad that things are looking up for them. The Devils have been on top for the last 20+ years so I'm ok with the Isles being good again.

It didn't start with the islanders fans themselves...it started with that guy that's horny for Forbes jumping into Todd's blog spouting about how the devils can't afford to buy gum and snowballed from there. Some people got sucked into it here.

Same here, I watched the cup years with the Isles and still upset that we had to play a 2-3-2 with Edmonton...still think we could of got 5!!! .....but still mad at the Isles for trading my favorite player back then....Mr Glenn "Chico" Resch

Who cares? I only care about what Snow and Wang do to put the finishing touches on this team before training camp opens in September. Gonna be a good season and all 3 NY area teams should be competitive...always a plus.

I think it's been 2-3 yrs since Marty hasn't missed time due to injury and Schneider is going to have to learn a whole new conference of players. Plus east west hasn't played for over two years.

But I will say devils seem to always have a couple of rabbits that get pulled out of a hat (minors)

Hamonic could have signed for the max of 8 years, but he only signed for 7 so when the contract is up he can move closer to his parents that are breaking up!
