Wonder if the rumors were true that the reason why Canucks dealt Schneider so fast was bc he was having an affair with another players wife....

To clarify and help you understand, it was told to me by his agent and scout, and if you read my post about it, I mentioned that he would like to play closer to home if he had the chance, not forcing anything by leaving....to help you comprehend.....bc maybe you fully didn't understand the post..

Also 1since40 poster was with me at the draft and even said he was there to hear the conversation....

Reading the tea leaves I would not be surprised if @StLouisBlues trade 2-5 of Stewart, Perron, Halak, Polak and/or Shattenkirk. #2manybodies

Oh brother. Where to begin. Dee, perhaps they thought you were his mom because you write like it. First, everyone knows Healy is still bitter about the Isles letting him walk in 93. He's never said a good thing about the organization since the day he left it. Funny that it was Don Maloney as GM that let him walk and he's never killed Maloney's running of the Az Coyotes. If Healy thinks that Hamonic is a "marginal" player, then it is clear he's letting his bitterness and bias cloud his judgement. Anyone who say Travis play the second half of the season and the playoffs knows he's a top 4 dman and not marginal. However, those that think he's a "top pair" dman are overshooting his value. He plays top pair minutes because the Isles have had a top pair dman since Adrian Aucoin left the franchise. AMac's play fell off this season only to have a resurgence in the playoffs. Hamonic played strong his final 20 and in the playoffs, but the Isles are devoid of a legit 1 or 2 dman. Letting Streit walk for those extra 2 years on his deal was the right move. The Flyers will hate that contract in 18 months. But the Isles need to do more to surround Hamonic with talent on the blueline and it isn't in the form of Strait or Hickey, both are nothing more than depth dman whom should bounce between the AHL and NHL on a legit d corps. Unfortunately, we've done nothing to shore up our suddenly thin d and shame on you Dee for not calling out the organization for it. You are too busy cozying up to Garth and throwing platitudes around to protect your "access" (blogger speak for "organizational mouthpiece") and calling this "JT's team" (who cares- need more than one guy to go deep in the playoffs) rather than focusing on this team's true deficiencies...lack of top talent on the blueline (both our top picks in the last two drafts should not be up on the Island this year and Donovan isn't a top pair dman. He'll be a 5th dman with PP duties).
And if Healy has a problem with Hamonic getting a deal that locks him up through his 20's just look at the Pens. Hamonic is what I would call a more physical Rob Scuderi. The Pens kept going for the "big signing" and let a guy like Scuderi walk and they haven't gone deep in the playoffs since...so they just resigned him. You need those Scuderi, Ken Morrow, Hamonic, Ferrence type dmen to make cup runs. The key is, the Isles don't have anyone above that and that is a problem. Who cares what Healy says. He sits at the little kids table on tsn on draft day and trade deadline day. Tells you what his employer thinks of him. He's famous for the same reason John Davidson is...one great playoff...never did anything else. Only difference is Davidson became a GREAT analyst and a strong executive. Healy can't spell those words.

Major Healy is not smart enough to understand what you wrote Vukota. The Clowe contract was just brutal and Healy goes after the Hammonic deal?
- ses111

Exactly. Look at what Clowe got. Heck, look at what Clarkson just got. Now, we know two unspoken rules of the hockey media...

1- You don't criticize any move the Leafs make unless they make none on Canada Day.

2- Lou Lam is untouchable.

If Lou Lam is going to give Clowe 4.5 mill a season, why not just give Clarkson the deal the Leafs did? Yeah it is 2 more years at 1.5 mill more a year, but so what. Would you rather have Clarkson or Clowe who had a very down year and now has concussion issues?

Where was Healy to criticize this?

And sorry... giving Lacavallier a 4 year deal at 4.5 mill a year? And no criticism of the Flyers?

Healy needs to get a clue.

Hamonic is only 22. He'll be a top D paring on any team by the time he hits his prime at 27 yrs old. This D has the potential to be real nasty in the next 2-4 years. Hamonic, Reinhart, Mayfield, Pedan,Pelech, Donovan, Pokka. Most of them big and nasty

this is funny. So a 22 y/o physical shut down defenseman playing top pairing against the other team's best lines every game, pk and 2nd unit pp isn't worth signing to a long term deal under 4 mil per that takes him until he's 29, but paying edler 5 mil per at age 27 when he plays on the second pairing and has an inconsistent physical game, makes huge defensive blunders and can score 40 points is much better? Obviously so, since the Canucks are trying to move Edler before he's even played a game under his new contract.

Clearly you didn't watch Hamonic take the body on crosby and malkin in the playoffs, and show more grit, heart and determination than anyone on the canucks.

But maybe you did notice for 3 months that your blogger had Hamonic listed as a target in every trade proposal blog he posted.

Less than 4 mil per year, plays top pairing, big minutes, top competition, contract takes him through 3 years of unrestricted eligibility and he's locked up.

Fantastic deal for us.

Yeah, that's the thing- I don't really care what any of them say....but especially him. If you hear him and watch him, he's really a nasty son of a b*tch....to everyone, not just players and teams. I think I know what the problem is....the first thing he needs to do to correct it is to go out and buy a BIG pickup truck.....that always seems to help.

Let's invade Italy again....my stomach hurts....

The Leafs are the Rangers of Canada, like I always say. The problem with the beginning of July is that someone else already left with the trophy two weeks earlier....

I am ambivalent about what they do in the off-season. On one hand, I'd like to see us improve quickly, who wouldn't? On the other hand, even mediocre players are getting stupid money for many, many years. They can't and shouldn't be doing that, with what they have coming down the pike- Hamonic isn't the only one who's going to require that kind of money, and Tavares is going to have to be paid what he's actually worth next time.

The negative, to me is this- they need another veteran defenseman, one way or another. I'm sure these kids are all at least decent, but to have a starting six of Visnovsky, MacDonald, Hamonic and three rookies/Strait/whoever is a scary thought.....oh, I forgot....Strait is going to make us forget all about Denis Potvin . Another solid veteran would make me happy, at least for a year or two, which is why the only guy I would have wanted was Scuderi...the problem, besides any other reasons why HE would not have come here, is that they only need him for a year or two, not four or five, or whatever stupid a$$ed deal he got. I'm guessing another trade for a guy in a similar situation to Visnovsky would be the ticket, but I'd like to see that happen sooner rather than later.

As for Bouchard, he's this year's Parenteau (let's hope he's better than last year's model )- I'm guessing that from the sound of things, what Snow is really doing is waiting for Petrov to take that spot on a more permanent basis. Hopefully, this guy can get the job done. Actually playing the game like he gives a sh*t would be an improvement over the last one, and that shouldn't be too hard.

I'm going to guess Snow isn't done yet, obviously, but thus far, I can't complain. I'd love to have Horton or Iginla, Scuderi, etc., but not at those prices....actually, the prices aren't really the issue, but how you sign guys who can't stay on the ice at age 33-35, to contracts that last until they're 38-40 years old is beyond my comprehension. It's just not the way they do things around here, and I'm actually happy for that....patient as I might have to be....
