What he actually said was he was coming from a franchise who hasn't made the playoffs to a franchise with a culture of winning. He meant no disrespect (I heard the conference call). The disrespect came from Keaton Ellerby last season after he was traded. We had lost.. big time.. one game, and he tweeted something like "nice night down in Florida, sad I was traded.. not". He deleted the tweet right after. Weiss is nothing but class, I wish him the best. I still remember the day he gave me the hat right off his head, signed it, the 8 cards I had, and then bought me a coke at Incredible Ice.

What you DO NOT reference in your reply is that HE DID say in a smart ass tone that the team made the playoffs once in a decade. Did ya hear that? It was a swipe, no doubt about it. I heard it yesterday on conference call, then again over coffee this morning on the local news where the reporter also agreed it was a swipe. It is what it is, and it was unnecessary.

You're a good fan, and we seem to have a difference of opinion a lot, but Weiss could've really been a stand up guy by just thanking fans and organization for a decade of support, a mansion in Parkland, good supporting fans of his and be d

Done with it already.

As far as him signing for you...great. I know this will sound bad, but it's the truth. My daughter a few years ago had the opportunity to meet Weiss and Horton, she was just 12 at the time. While Weiss acted as if he gave two craps about anyone there Nathan Horton was all smiles, my daughter hugged him and couldn't have been treated more nicely. Doesn't mean Horton is better for anything except being nicer that day.

Do we have a difference in opinion a lot? Not sure. Lol. Hard to keep track. I mean, I always felt Weiss harbored ill will towards this franchise. Maybe I was just expecting it.

How's this for a crazy thought. Suppose Weiss was drafted by a much better team and was just a working journeyman hockey player. Actually not too crazy of a thought. Is there a possibility that he's a 4.9 million dollar man for the "potential" he MAY have since he sorta flourished on poor teams. I think he may actually be the huge benefactor for his time here. His rep here...huge... Kinda. That same Weiss the past decade on the Penguins, Sharks, or even Red Wings...he might not be signing that contract today. He'd be second or third line guy for years on those teams. He might owe a huge "Thank You" to the Florida Panthers.

Weiss was lied to by the organization since the day he was drafted. They put no one around him, If I were him I would have exposed this failed franchise all over the media but he has much more class than me so I give him credit. I hope he wins a cup in Det, now we have guys like Huby and Barkov who will be lied to as well. No talent = no wins. Panthers won't have over 25 wins next season. It's the early 2000's all over again!! YAY!!!!!

and btw, Tallon won't be here much longer. You can tell in his voice he's pissed that ownership is cheap and doesn't want to win. Once that contract is up, he's running the Fucck out of here.

So much for being competitive in year 3 of the re build lol.

Other than the proven first line center, I like the team. If you remember many guys were out for that drag strip of a season. Would I like to see finally that centerman, you bet. Did he just get drafted? Well, Tallon probably thinks so. Id just like to have Sasha mentored before being thrown to the wolves. Getting back to my point, minus the center I wish we had, and a solid backup goalie (may be addressed soon) wouldn't even mind too much if Jose got the gig again, I don't find this team to bad if it's healthy.

The only mistakes that to me are glaring that Tallon has to own is dropping Grabner and I believe letting Brennan go for a sandwich. He robbed Vancouver and dumped Booth on them (I thought he was way wrong initially), and he's added some decent pieces. I think he's basically on track, and IF the team can stay healthy, you may be surprised. Just don't get WTF no one sees in not ever addressing the obvious veteran winning number one center issue. That addressed alone, makes this a good team.

Thoughts about trading Parros?

A non-factor. Aaron Asham I think is available. I'd rather have him anyway.

It's sad you're completely satisfied with a losing formula. That's the problem with Florida, no one gives a fucck about hockey down there and even when a team wins a championship they could care less (Heat). Big woop!! they bought an NBA finals, all their fans are posers anyway. Same goes for the Panthers, most fans just buy season tickets to have something to do, they don't care about hockey, just look at those red seats this year, they were all in the restaurant during games, people weren't even in their seats watching hockey lol. It's an embarrassment, please move this team up north where hockey belongs.

really how can you honestly call yourself a panther fan. you want to talk about an embarrassment just look in a mirror. I pay to see the Panthers because I love Hockey! I know thats a hard thing to understand. So stop giving a (frank) about the panthers and go hate on some other team.

Yes and no what kind of deal were you thinking? The one thing I would be worried about moving him because he might finally break thou. But would be a big help short term because we don't have a number 1 center.

Straight up?
Oilers need Matthias' size. Gagner has great hands.
Both young with lots of potential.

Straight up I would do. I really like Matthias but Gagner would help a lot and fill our #1 center for now till Barkov is ready.

I agree. I'd cut Shawn loose and hope Gagner could mentor Sasha on the second or maybe the third line...just to start.

If I was God and had the ability to control the weather then you would have a point. I don't so take it easy buddy. Congrats on the new born, move out of Florida if you want your family safe. Storms all over the world are getting stronger and more deadly, I don't need to be the obvious one here. Hopefully the arena gets blown away, Panthers don't deserve to play a single NHL game since they are such a disgrace to the league.
