the guy who had a 32.6% OZS, but maintained a 52% corsi. Tough minutes C, 12th in selke voting, thanks to no one giving a sh*t about PHX.

the fact that you don't know who he is, probably means you can't say he blows

- TheNugeIsHuge

I know who he is ya schmuck ...the guy is a nobody that doesn't deserve that contract...what a terrible signing...but hey I guess that's the only guys EDM can get to come to that dump.

Still overpaid at 3 million dollars, not argueable.

A solid add though, gotta overpay in FA to fill holes. Thats how the salary cap era works, sadly.

Overpaid, yes. "the guy f*ckin blows", no.

He played for your favourite team? I wonder why you're a fan of him then. Probably because you think he's a great NHLer and not because of homerism. I like Corey Potter. Don't mean he's any good.
- TheNugeIsHuge

I have yet to say a word about my personal opinion of him. For all you know, I'm glad we shipped him off for Horcoff.

I'm simply pointing out you have no idea what your talking about just because you looked up some stats on your computer. Theres an actual sport that gets played by 29 other teams outside of Edmonton. You have to actually watch the game and know what your talking about to make the comments your making.

He dealt with a doozy of a concussion last year and then missed 8 games this year to injury. We rolled primarily 4 dmen and than rotated youth through the bottom pairing, Larsen being one of rotation when he was healthy.

He had his good games and his bad games. It was half a season and he didn't even play every game. Gulutzan wasn't a huge fan of him and it was evident to anyone who watched the Stars consistently. The fact that your even judging a 23 year old on such a small sample is asinine all its own.

If he impresses Eakins Ill be sure to get your new opinion mid-season.

3x3, I guess that's an overpayment. Beats having to pay Bryzgalov money to attract a decent goaltender.

If you knew anything about EDM's needs, or Gordon's value, you'd consider it a good signing. But judging by your posts, I'm guessing you're a little too busy squeezin your head outta your ass to pay attention to anything outside of PHI.

Thanks for your insightful input, bud.

Hammy is terrific and so is Garrison. Once he figured out AV's defensive schemes he became everything you would've wanted for the dollars.

Plus Garrison is a handsome dude with a great beard. Him and Higgins must just have the ladies impregnating themselves.

He definitely doesn't blow, but he also definitely doesn't produce enough offense to warrant that contract.

But we'll see, its exactly the kind of player the Oil needed.

No, you don't understand the difference between actually knowing the game and assessing a players talent with your eyes as opposed to going on behindthenet.ca and nhl.com for his stats. But I guess you know more about a player that you've never watched before than I do even though he plays for my favorite team and I watch him 82 games a year.

But your right I guess, cause you know.....facts.

- mochoson

Gotta agree with you here. Money puck doesn't really tell the true story. Gotta watch the games...not the numbers on a screen

point is, Oleksiak, Benn, n Rome were all more successful on that third pairing with their opportunities.

doesn't say good things about him. He's still got a shot at being a full time NHLer, but it's unlikely. I don't see him beating out N Schultz or Belov/Klefbom for that 6 spot in EDM.

just watching the screen doesn't tell the whole story. Ask the TO fans that think Kadri was playing against top forwards in the playoffs

It's all this website is. It's (frank)ing stupid as poop.

I'm an active college player and coach. I literally live at a hockey rink. All I do is watch the game 24/7.

I'm also a firm believer that you can't understand the game properly until you've played it. But I'm not trying to put myself or any other hockey fan on a pedestal. Were all fans and we all love this sport in the end.

Are you telling me the Danny Paille line is not an elite shutdown line that was purposely deployed against Kadri to prevent him from going all 93-Doug-Gilmour on the Booins?

Yeah, I give up. For you to even suggest Jordie Benn was better than anyone in the Stars organization last year is laughable. I'm sorry, you truthfully don't know what your talking about.

Larsen will compete for a spot on your bottom pairing. The end.

Oh really? Do advance stats show the fire in a guys eyes? Do they show the difference between a light hit and knocking a guy on his ass?can you show me numbers that provide evidence that defender A is terrified when attacker B is coming over the blue line? Nope. Intangibles. Gotta watch the game to understand them.

Sure compete with Kelfbom, Nurse, Marincin, NSchultz, Potter, Belov...probably a player or two more, as of this moment JSchultz, Petry, Smid and Ference are teh Top 4...everyone else if looking to get teh last spots.

Right now he is odds on going to the Barons. And I don't have an issue with him, I liked his stat line...not high on points, but I liked his hits level for the few games and bottom pairing minutes he got.

watchin it on TV shows fire in a guys eyes? Intangibles are a small part of hockey. I'll take the more skilled player over the character player. See: Conn smythe winner
