It's sad that you also just described souray. Basically our D sucks
- selanne4pres

Nah, Souray was definitely much less of a liability and more of an asset througout the year. Granted, the last game of the playoffs wasn't a bright spot for him. But in 44 games, 17 points and a +19, Souray was not dead wood.

Allen was perhaps our biggest liability in the playoffs(besides Bruce not adjusting our game) with a consistently bewildered look after the many goals scored against when he was on the ice. A 32 year old who skates like a 45 year old, yes, his contract allows for placement in the minors without the cap hit.

I disagree and dont think he was that bad. Souray on the other had was awful.

Pretty sure guys on one way contracts will have their cap hits count for the big club if they are in the AHL. Wade Redden rule.

Ducks are also a budget team and there is no way Samueli will pay an NHL contract to play in the AHL. This is probably the same reason no one, cough, Souray, cough was not bought out. Owner probably does not want to pay a guy not to play here.

Not a bad deal for Anaheim, Silfverberg will help like the 1st round pick will also. It's much better than letting Ryan walk for nothing. Ryan and Spezza together will be pretty good.

I'm a huge B. Ryan fan, and wished Isles would of made the trade, but honestly this is a really good hockey trade all around........

Sens get their replacement for Alfie, Ducks get more youth high end guys and Silfverberg could give 20-30g which is not much up a step down from Ryan, plus Noesen and the 1st pick..

Great hockey trade for both....

Not sure how I feel about this one yet. Ryan is a top line player that got stuck on the second line to create imaginary depth the last few years and he still looked good. I was really hoping that if he got traded, It would be for a proven centerman or a big nasty Defenceman. On that note, I'd love to see Anaheim take a shot at Grabovski.

I really like Bobby Ryan as a player, but I feel like you guys got a lott back in that deal! I wouldn't be disappointed with this offer at all. Silfverberg will be a great NHL hockey player. At least he should be. Plus Noesen was a 1st round pick a couple years ago, and a future 1st round pick! good deal guys!

Better not let Selanne retire. Those were the only two guys I actually respected on the Ducks team.

he'll be pretty good..just not as good as us Tampa fans expected him to be. Especially where he will be forced to be one of the point producers out in Ottawa

Conacher won't be forced to be one of the point producers, he'll be on the 3rd line... time will tell how he develops but Pageau was preferred to him during the playoffs...

Ducks were tied for 9th in the league last year in GA. Our D can't suck that bad.
