If I'm the Oilers, I'd ask for Couturier, not B.Schenn.

I have serious doubts he will develop offensively but he will be a very good shut down center in this league for a long time.

Yeah, true...but if you stop to see their team, they already have plenty of offense with Eberle, Hall, Nugent-Hopkins and Yakupov. Getting Couturier would be a good move for them.

But of those 4 only 1 is a center and its important to have that second center who can also get it done offensively to help matchup wise.

Philly fans would blow a gasket ... Trading the next Ron Francis. Hell, they wouldn't trade him straight up for stamkos. He is the most overrated player in the league. Philly fan went ballistic of the rumors he was heading to Phoenix for yandle. So, instead of doing that and acquiring an all star blue liner for 5 million, they sign declining and poopty street for more.

Maybe it's me, but RNH doesn't interest me at all.

Pens need to clear space for grabo... if not cleary...

And with scuds is despres not top 4 now...

Idk what pens are doing

Edit: understand scuds will bring what we need to the D but we have to many D and not enough wingers... ok top 6 might be locked in but bottom 6 is soft and slow... glass vitale adams line r grinders but they rnt going to help much...

Nisk has to be gone but clearing cap space I c maf martin or orpik going...

Its july man, relax a bit. I am sure they have a plan, you will see Nisk traded at some point and his 2 mil added back. Do you really want to see a rookie pairing at the bottom 6 of the D? I know Despres played last year and Burt has some experience. The 3rd line I think is ok, Would you break up the pairing of Martin and Orpik? Like Burt with Martin and Despres with Orpik?

Stay away from bridges, you seem near the edge.

Since the Duper signing he's been like that..so sorry for him..

Sutter/Jokinen/Jeffrey is our 3rd line so far. I feel like everyone is reticent about giving Jeffrey a chance to stick in the lineup. We lost a lot of grit on that line but we'll have to move on. Maybe adding Dan Cleary would add a little toughness.

4th line is very average...

The big difference on our team for next season will be the D. We improved it by adding Scuderi.

Another thing to keep in mind: our special teams. The PK will continue to be good and our PP is very good if worked properly.

Now that scuds is back for 4 years, there is a really good chance orpik will not be back next in 2014-15. I really hope he stays for a couple more years. Martin could get a contract extension at around the same price.

Unfortunately cleary could get probably around 4-5 mil/year thanks to the ridiculous overpayments for bottom 6 guys. Nystrom is getting 2.25 per year, that's just ridiculous

We'll be better off developing our own bottom 6 guys. Give Zach Sill a chance. The guy is better than Glass. He has Vitale's energy for a 4th line role.

How would you feel about acquiring Marcel Goc? He could certainly liven up the bottom 6. He's a UFA in 2014 as well.

Sill is interesting but I have heard from people in WBS that he has a ways to go. Definitely could fit the 4th line bill soon but not ready yet.

I think we're getting too soft. I envision early exits over the next couple years and poor coaching decisions. Then midway through the 2015 season we'll finally bring in a hard nosed coach and we'll climb through the standings on our way to the Cup.
