To me, Oshi is much more valuable. A young player on the rise. Miller to me, is somewhat overrated. He is coming off of consecutive mediocre seasons and he is on the wrong side of 30.

I think Miller is being overvalued by Darcy and by some fans. I think the rest of the league is showing us that

- RayHatesDomi

If his value is a 2nd and a plug, why trade him then? Why not wait, goalies go down all the time.

Thank you for making my point...... Draft picks are merely potential and I can't count how many drafts I have listened to guys on here boasting how great a player was going to be only to never ever see them in the NHL.......
- rapperray

So how exactly do you improve your team then if any player drafted is merely potential as you say and cannot be counted on?

TJ Oshie is over rated. He's a good player, but like the Blues fan said "fan favorite". That's all I need to hear

OK Don Cherry.

Im going to give you a homework assignment. Go watch any Youtube clip you can find on Risto and Zadorov. The last thing either player is is soft. Both are very "north america" when it comes to the hitting game

Nicklas Lidstrom is still laughing over that inane comment.

I'm not overrating him. I'm not saying he's a superstar. Just like Miller isn't a superstar.

Oshie is a good young player. Miller is an aging goalie. I personally don't envision a great return for him. I don't even expect a return as good as Oshie

It's the worst case scenario but I mean come on, we obviously are in a rebuild mode. Vanek has pretty much said- fix the roster this summer or im out. Darcy has not signed anyone (which is fine). Why is gods name make this team better and possibly prevent us from drafting a superstar (pick 1-3) by keeping him on the roster until the deadline?

Datysuk is a fan favorite in Det. Crysby is in Pit. Being a fan favorite doesn't make a player over rated, it just makes their team less likely to trade them.

what is oshie to the sabres? a ok 2way 3rd liner. to st. louis hes a glue guy but to buffalo, not so much. darcy wanted more and i guess a 2nd round pick and oshie was too much in st. louis's eyes. o well.

You think a second liner on a contending team will only be a third liner on a team looking at a top draft pick?

i understand. what if he got traded a month before the deadline? he can go at anytime and when teams start noticing that they can get a vanek at a fraction of his cap hit he becomes far more enticing to a cup contender. its a calculated risk that i personally dont mind. maybe you do and i hope your not right but it really doesnt bother me as much as not moving miller for something

All I'm saying is that he's not a goal scorer or point producer, at least not an above average one. He's not reliable to play a full season. He's a good 2 way player yet had the worst +/- on the team regular season and playoffs, but he's a fan favorite. Guys like that are over rated by the fans

Been saying this since before last seasons trade deadline.
Miller Will end up in St. Louis.

Told that Buffalo and St. Louis spoke about Ryan Miller but price too high. Nothing happening on that front at this point

Then he played 45 games risking injury and walking for nothing. For all we know he falls off his bicycle and tears his ACL tomorrow. Point is if you make the decision that you will be moving on, you don't risk it and you move on.

There are 29 other teams that have guys that could fall off a bike and tear their ACL, maybe we get lucky and one of them needs a 35 to 40 goal scorer.

Pretty soon we will hear how they signed Cody to a new contract and watch them parade Cody around like he was the steal of the day.

if the deal is right i move him now but he's not a priority like miller is. rarely do you see a goalie getting moved mid season

If Vanek walks for nothing, it could set us back even further than we are now.

I can't imagine what he's asking for Vanek. He should have been one of the first players swooped up.

Easily. Just like these same goalies got us past the first round in 2012.

Well apparently you and your GM have differing opinions or he wouldn't have asked our GM about the price for Miller. Unless LeBrun is an idiot and got it wrong.

I wouldn't say easily, with all due respect.
I think they get you to the 2nd round, and that's it.
If that is the case, what's the point if you're not going to have a shot at winning the cup.

IMO, neither of your two goaltenders gets you a shot at the cup.

Worst case, our current goalies don't get the job done next playoffs... Blues are still happy to keep their "over-rated" by fans player and then get Miller for free in the offseason. Nearly our entire team is under 30, our window is just opening. Buffalo needs to trade Miller a heck of a lot more than we need to trade for him.
