Only 23 and 48 ever walked away for nothing. Everyone else has been dealt by the deadline. Thats what will happen in the worst case scenario |

I don't care about Ryan. The failure to move Miller to a team in need, and watching them sign below average goaltenders because the price was too high makes me nuts! I just can't take it anymore - grow a pair!!! - Cup Crazy '07
isles prob wont spend big $ with owners, at least till they move to brooklyn
flyers no cap space
bolts went young with bishop and lindbach so went potential and cheap due to stamkos and other contracts
schneider younger less assets very good goalie, devils

Her is the problem.
The last two years vanek has mid season injuries. Is it a risk worth taking - hafgod
Just like I said with Miller, if the offer isnt there, yes! Its how any GM would handle it |

If there is one in the top, sure why not.
But I would be pretty mad if he did. Regier isnt THAT inept - CaptPantalones
Capt...... I guess I just want a GM who woun't sit there and ponder every damn thing to death.... Isn't that what Gerry Meehan was criticized for and eventually fired for? |

Vanek missed 4 games in 11-12... This past season is the only season he has missed several games. |

I think I need to sit out the rest of this offseason. Go Sabres. And by 'go,' I mean, 'go ahead and suck enough to get better in the future.' |

The Devils stole Schneider. Every other team addressed their situation without giving up assets. Unless you're a really good salesman, most GM's would have a difficult time in this spot. |

Why would they be worse? The Sabres drafted 8th overall this year. With a young team, why should we expect the team to do worse UNLESS they deal Vanek and/or Miller? - truthbluth
Because everyone else in the division has gotten better, plus the new teams in the division. With so many games in the division, we may lose more even with the same talent level as last year on the team. |

Not sure about that. Vanek i would agree. Miller maybe subtraction leads to addition.
He is a big part of the culture in that room. |

Buffalo can absorb part of contract....not like they are going to be up against cap. That can help push the deal.... No cap space is not a good enough excuse from Buf standpoint. |

Capt... I think the thing that angers everyone is that Miller was most valuable before the draft... Darcy waited, pondered, waited some more and now Miller will be worth about 1/2 what he was prior to the draft. |

If another team hasn't offer anything for Miller how do we trade him? There is rumour after rumour out there but has anything of value actually been offered for Miller. And I don't take Garth's blogs as legitimate. |

But you don't know that and there's a lot more too it. Say there were 2 or 3 teams that inquired about him, but he had them on the no trade list, what the heck is Darcy supposed to do. Nobody really knows what goes on, so to criticize him for not trading Miller yet is ridiculous. Criticize him for not making the playoffs as often as they should have been, that's fine. |

Miller won't be any more or less in September than he was prior to the draft. When you have only one team making a trade for a goaltender, and the rest re-signing their own, it means the market sucked to begin with. |

If they were so reluctant to do that, they most likely would have not done the deal on day one of free agency. |

Ekblad and reinhardt are dmen and nystrom is the center right? - JVince11
Reinhart is a center, maybe you're thinking of his brothe Griffin (NYI drafted him 4th a couple yrs ago)...
Nylander is a C/RW
Ekblad plays defense
I'd say (as of now) that 6 of the top 8 prospects are forwards |
