Agree, but that's all I've got to go on since last season was the first time I've seen him compete. He should go to a Gary Roberts summer workout. Did wonders for CoHo.

You should see if some of the links to archived AIK games are still posted on some of the older HF boards prospect threads.

I used to have them, but I've had to erase my internet history a few times since ( )...

I do know that one of the guys there puts up some good hilight clips on the Jensen thread.

Santorelli and Richardson, two solid signings for the bottom 6. They aren't the biggest or most physical players but not sot guys either, work hard and solid possession numbers for bottom 6 players. Really hoping that this means we see less of guys like Weise and Sestito as regulars in the lineup(rather have them as 12th/13th forwards at best).

This team may lack a good second line, but having a capable 4th line will help offset that. Also interesting to note that Santorelli was Booth's linemate the year that Santorelli was a 20 goal scorer.

I was always under the impression that it was Roberts attending Hodgson's summer training sessions that turned Roberts into such a fitness guru...

Whether it was the chicken or the egg that came first I don't know but I will say that Hodgson had a boy's body every camp he attended until the last one that got him on the team. The same summer that he worked with Gary Roberts.

I like Tim Brent as well, could move Richardson to wing and have Brent as 4lc and have 2 thirds of a solid 4th line(maybe Santorelli as the other wing as well since both he and Richardson can play center and wing).

I would have taken a shot at Benoit Pouliot at the price he signed for, but he's best suited as a 3LW on a good team and we already have Higgins.

I know I missed the main points over the past few pages but I want to put in my two cents worth.

1. On Tim Thomas

I am reading that some on this board think that a White House Visit is no big thing... it's a political stunt. I think that is a massive miscategorization of (A) the actual act of receiving an invitation and (B) any political gain any president gets from this. Lastly, there is a (C) as well and that was his public and very political refusal to go.

A. Miscategorise = Receiving an Invite

An invitation to the historic house of the most powerful man of the free world is not akin to kissing babies in a Walmart parking lot while giving out buttons and cheap hot dogs. Imagine how huge this would be to an American of either Elephant or Donkey brand. This is no political stunt.

Who gets invitations? Nelson Mandella, Bishop Tutu, The Pope, Leaders of foreign countries, Paul McCartney, Astronauts, Scientists and leaders and pioneers of fields including athletics.

B. Political Gain

What possible political gain is there to hold a small gathering and be photo'd with the POTUS months after the event and lets not forget, EVERYONE comes.... not just blue states but red ones as well. Seems to me that there are more Red states than blue ones but the Blues hold the electoral college... my point being there is a much higher chance of a team from a red state visiting Obama which is no political gain what-so-ever.

Political gain is made locally mayors and councilmen who suddenly sit in the car with the owner, captain and cup leading the parade.

C. Public Refusal to go.

He was the one who made this political.

I believe the Federal government has grown out of control, threatening the Rights, Liberties, and Property of the People. This is being done at the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial level. This is in direct opposition to the Constitution and the Founding Fathers vision for the Federal government. Because I believe this, today I exercised my right as a Free Citizen, and did not visit the White House. This was not about politics or party, as in my opinion both parties are responsible for the situation we are in as a country. This was about a choice I had to make as an INDIVIDUAL. This is the only public statement I will be making on this topic. TT

Helloooooooooooo ev reee budddy.
Kind of new to this place...been' reading your comments for a long time now, and I finally got off my ass and posted.
I am trying to do a cap geek roster and pencil in Schroder and Tanev, what are your opinions of reasonable compensation for these guys? I was thinking 1.75 for Tanev and 1.25 for Schroder, am I out to lunch?

- Sir_Pent

Hey, welcome aboard! Opinions vary, I'm of the opiniont that both will likely receive small raises on the $900k they earned last season, perhaps Tanev slightly more than Schroeder. I would bet $1-$1.1 for Schroeder and $1.25 for Tanev, perhaps on a two year deal with an AAV of $1.5m

I think he can... Jensen's 10x's more cerebral than Booth, so if he's conditioned to NHL standards & is put in offensive situations, I think he'll do really well.
- DrChristianTroy

I agree, this kid just needs to improve his conditioning, from what I briefly saw of him last year, and he'll do anything that Booth can do at a fraction of the cost. I'm tellin ya, a little confidence and these kids are gonna be good!!

While Jensen looked out of place in his NHL debut last year, you have to remember he was playing on his 3rd team in a matter of weeks including a ton of travel from over seas. I think with a good summer program and full training camp he can realistically challenge for a top 9 roster spot. He has all the tools to do so.

I'd say you're at least $250k too high on each, but I could see Tanev getting overpayed.

From the sound of it, the coaching change was the major portion of the reset, I wouldn't expect too much more. They still need about 10 more players for the AHL, plus the Canucks RFA's.

So being of the right makes you a racist because your not a Liberal? Seems pretty quick to call him out as a racist because he is not of the left. I don't come here to debate politics and I really don't like Tim but being a conservative doesn't make you a racist.
