Nice to see things don't change. Youre still the biggest (frank)ing douche around.

I've seen Shinkaruk play many times and I think he's a great player. All I passed on was some things I heard as to why he fell in the draft. Keep being a wiener though

You do it so well.

- Iggysbff

Even if you are right, WTF do we care?
We got a consensus top ten pick at 24th overall.

Murray/Zanon = Murzyn? Think about it
- 1970vintage

But that means they have to sign them both...

I don't understand these rumors. Are we talking about NSH's Jonathon Blum, a former first round pick at age 24?

If so why the hell would NSH let him go?

- Whiskey-Tango

He has struggled there. They got all kinds of depth at D

That was meant for both...

Zanon is worth about 850k.. and I would do Murray at about 2 million. Canucks could use some physicality.

- kneughter

OK, I got ya.

I don't mind Murray, but I still think $2 million is about $0.5 too much for what he brings at this point in his career.

Still don't agree with Zanon. I think the guy's career in the NHL is done.

And third line center open for one of our 4 young centers.Horvat Gaunce Lain or Shinkaruk.

Sounds like JS is odd man out.

- VANTEL

JS is a more capable NHLer than all of them at this point.

I guess it's possible, but I doubt any of them outplay him in camp.

Lain is a loooooooong way away...

Some you hockey gurus that we have in here please answer this question. We have essentially in my opinion 10 guys on hometown discounts. Or so we think.

Sedin
Sedin
Edler
Bieksa
Hamhuis
Garrison
Lu
Kesler
Burrows
Higgins ?? (a stretch)

Yet we have holes all throughout our lineup and I cant see this team getting out of the 1st round.

So really are these guys really on home town discounts or just over paid.

- Bluechip23

They are hometown discounts (not Higgins).

It's that lack of contributions from ELCs that is killing them...

I am just saying what Gillis said. It will be an interesting camp.

That would be my guess, too.

But I wouldn't rule it out entirely until I've seen more of him at the AHL level.

Only played a handful of games after finishing college.

But I definitely didn't see any signs that he's got the type of skill to produce like a 3C, in my brief viewing.

Gillis called Schroeder the odd man out...?

Will be interesting for sure.

And the additions of Horvat and Shinkaruk make me think the Canucks might be a bit more willing to try Gaunce in the NHL a bit earlier than is ideal, simply out of necessity.

Still a risk of stifling his offensive growth, but it makes it a bit easier to risk with those two in the system.

I still hope they give him another year in the OHL.

He refered to to a 3 rd line center to be filled by one of their 3 or 4 prospects.

He didn't mention JS

Nope. Iggysbff who as he tells us is praised by flames players for his superior hockey knowledge said Shink fell due to weak skating and a bad attitude.
- Bieksa#3

Talked to Hunter for close to an hour for an article and chated with him at FHFF Calgary last year. IMO, I have no idea where this "he has an attitude problem" clais come from.

Nice, confident kid, who is as driven as any athlete I've ever met.

I'd also like to point out that people with attitude problems don't spend 8ish hours a day, for 4 days helping with flood relief the week of the draft.
