Canucks are so deep up front that their 4th line would be most other teams 2nd line. Attention poolies: Richardson is a big time sleeper! Now that he has some real line mates in Sestito and Weise I expect big time production from him.

I think Clarkson's deal is pure insanity. Term & cap hit. Gross.

I am surprised that you think so little of Tanev. He is a great young D man who has played minutes no one ever expected him to play. In two or three years, he will be a solid top 4. He had mad skills, great smarts ----- how many penalties does this guy take? Last season.... 2.

He is way smarter than you give him credit for.

Richardson's a solid possession player, he was only scratched in LA because of their great forward depth, especially at center. Classic money puck signing, he'll be a pleasant surprise for the team this year, at least we know that Gillis hasn't totally given up on advanced stats which is a little encouraging.

Weber, I'm not as excited about, #7 d-man at best IMO but at 600K there's not much to complain about. Nice to have the #7 d-man making close to the league min instead of having Ballard at 4.2 and Alberts at 1.1 million which was atrocious.

agree on both. Stupid contracts being handed out today, Canucks don't have much to spend but at least not making any mistakes so far today. Richardson will be good depth in the bottom six, I like his game, nothing flashy but hard working and good forechecker.

I agree.. just curious what their plans for the 3LC is ... maybe JS.. but I find that to be a bit hard to swallow.. especially when Kes goes down (which we all know he will) I would be much happier if we could somehow deal Booth.. or worst case Edler.. and bring in a D-man like Eaton.. or maybe Murray/Zanon at around 2 to 2.5 million. And then bring in a capable C... possibly Antropov or Grabo at a greatly reduced price.

Thats a deal I would feel more confident with going into next year.. give a young guy a shot on the wing... Jensen on the 3rd line perhaps.

Higgins Kassian Kesler
Schroeder D. Sedin H Sedin
Richardson Sestito Weise

I agree, Booth is a lightening rod for all of our disappointment but truth is, he have never seen him. When he got where, it took a while to adjust form a Florida team whose tactics were best known as "Shinny" and into a system. Then, injury after injury.

I think we should be patient one more season... then "Mayson Raymond" the guy.

They played probably about 9 to 12 games together... but it was enough to see that they both play a very similar style.. which doesn't mesh well.

I just don't think Kesler has a ton of chemistry with anyone that ISN'T a play maker of some sort. Kesler has almost no vision.. and is a very north to south type player. Not really sure why he is even used as a centreman.. his most consistently productive year 5 on 5 was playing on the wing.

Booth is a very solid player... but I just don't know what spot he has on this team that would benefit both sides.

Schenn, Schenn, Simmonds for Booth, Edler, Hansen. And get our RFA's signed.

Is this considered a reset or just tinkering?

Could this work for both teams?

that's taking 3 young players from philly on fairly good contracts and giving them:

edler, solid d, decent contract
hansen, energy winger
booth, injury risk, high cap hit

schenn, schenn and simmons are worth considerably more IMO.

I could be wrong but I think Torts suggested it may be a good idea to split the twins.

I may have conjured that up in my sleep though.
