Is anyone here really suggesting that the Caps would want Ryan Miller? Who the (frank) cares about the Caps? Not even on the radar. BTW, I live in DC and go to games, and while Holtby has been impressive, he's only played 57 nhl games. He's not proven, but he does have a lot of promise. The main discussion was whether Miller is an upgrade over Halak, which he is. How much are teams willing to spend on a goalie for one year? Keep in mind that the Sabres can retain half of Miller's cap hit and salary, so, how much is Miller worth on a one year, 3.125 million dollar contract? More than Halak + Russel, which amounts to absolutely nothing for a rebuilding team. Must be picks and/or prospects.

I personally am down because Vanek and Miller are still on the team... I could care less about signing players today for 2-3m more then there worth

Miller plays with PURPOSE during OLYMPIC year, I know we all want him gone, BUT you don't TRADE low! You trade HIGH and MILLER will DELIVER this year in a CONTRACT + OLYMPIC Year! Count on it! Vanek will PULL a MAJOR return now or during season.......enough with all this hate already.....its so beating a dead horse!

I'd much rather see Miller gone before the puck drops in October. Of course, nobody wants to sell low, but too risky waiting till the deadline...he could get hurt or just play mediocre hockey like most non-Olynpic years, and either way his value is not even close to what it might be now. Full rebuild. I'd love to see 26 stay (rebuilds don't have to take a decade) since he is a class act and works like a horse.

Enroth is going to be a stud #1 IMHO, and the less of Miller in the locker room, the better.

I love Vanek, but really, if we aren't a contending team next season, I'm not sure why we would pay such a high price for an upgrade at wing.

We have no second line center, our bottom-6 needs to be re-worked, and our defense is the same from last year. Bigger issues there. Our top-6, though certainly can be improved, is pretty set.

Vanek would be better addressed at the deadline, in terms of a need for the Caps.

For people saying it takes one injury for Miller to have value. What if Miller gets injured? Then what?

Darcy should be worried about getting Hodgson signed before his rebuilding plans backfires on him and we lose him.
