New ownership, new coach, same useless GM. Once again Buffalo will be shunned by every higher profile free agent because we are still viewed as a Mickey Mouse operation. Miller will probably walk out of town with Buffalo receiving nothing for him, just like Briere and Drury did, or Darcy will hold on to him until he has to get rid of him or risk getiing nothing at all, by then the best offer will be a low draft choice. Instead we will go after old vetern(36) like Cullen because he has leadership skills....please. That would be just another waste of a roster spot like Kaleta and Lenio. |

Really, so, Paul Gaustad is worth a first, but a potential franchise goaltender isn't? Darcy overvalues his players, but people on this board seriously undervalue them. - truthbluth
NSH panicked because TOR backed out of a Grbovski for a first deal. NSH quickly turned to Gaustad.
Who needs a goalie with a 6+MM cap hit at the moment? |

Miller is going to garner the same kind of package that Pominville garnered....
You guys are the same ones that said sekera is worth a bag of pucks and that no way we get anything for Roy.... - RicoMartin

Supply and demand. Gaustad is worth a first when a bunch of teams need him. Miller isn't because there aren't any teams who really need him. |

I'd be willing to be almost anything Miller does not get a Pominville like return. |

Good grief, the Sabres are nowhere near the cap. They can afford to retain half of Miller's salary and cap hit. That Gaustad story is a rumor, and in the end, they paid a 1st rd pick for a 3rd line center. Nobody forced them to do that. |

You lost Briere and Drury because of Regier's dumb outdated policy. That he quickly changed after that horrendous off-season... |

No move may be a good move. I actually agree todd. Doesn't mean it won't happen though.
Steckel and penner I think are top people we might sign

What? 360 forward positions versus 60 goalie positions. Deadline versus off-season.
It's not hard to see why Pominville got the package he got and why Miller won't. At this point, you guys are pretty much Luongo'ing him. |

Sabres fans should keep an eye on teams that lose out on Iginla, Jagr, Clarkson. Those are clubs that might be intrigued by Vanek trade
true... once those dominoes have settled... we will know the trade market.
More teams know that this UFA pool is shallow and that hte trade route is the way to go to truly improve the top of your team. |

And that policy has backfired on him as well. How he still has a job is beyond me. |

Having an owner who believed that every player should have a 1-year contract did not help the situation either. |

1. Miller never lost his job to Enroth
2. He isn't here til 2050 unlike Luongo
3. Miller isn't untradable like Luongo, Are GM just wants and arm and a leg. |
