To me its basically Miller, Kreider, and a 1 for Ryan from our perspective. Would you do that deal?
- mrhattrick27

No I wouldn't, plus can't afford the cap hit.

Why would we deal Kreider when we think he has the potential to be as good as Ryan?
- aecliptic

I think that is his point

no need to still come up with pretend proposals for Bobby Ryan.

Maybe in two years when he is UFA we can get him for free

I asked new #CBJ forward Nathan Horton why he chose number 8: "Because if you turn it sideways, it means forever."

Agreed, a very good haul, especially for someone a free agent in two years. Love Silfverberg.

Now he really can be the "silfver surfer"

Whoever offered him more money, that team should thank Toronto for taking him.

Exactly. I am saying to evaluate it from our side.

Silverberg = Kreider
Noesson( sp??) = Miller (He was a 2011 first rounder)

So judging by the comments Sather didn't miss on the Bobby Ryan trade as that was the cost and most if not all of us would not have met it.

Yea, probably New Jersey. They look like they are willing to make complete fools of themsevles this year because they know they can't rely on their system to improve their current situation.

You need to have one first.

Devils are one of the worst drafting teams in the league lately. Trading the 9th pick for Scheinder was ok, but all in all, theyre terrible.

Kovy goes from a sad situation in ATL, gets a small taste of promise, now theyre just as bad as ATL was.

Why do you think they were so eager to rid themselves of their first round pick? Larsson is coming up roses so far huh?

For a free agency that didnt have much for top tier guys, this years free agency was nuts. Players coming off the board and signing left and right... with a big trade to put the cherry on top.

Glad they weren't in on Nystrom after seeing what Nystrom got from Nashville.

Im starting to get very concerned about the 4 guys that need contracts right now. If you were any of them, how would you not feel a little bitter watching all of these deals getting recorded by the league at the values they're at. Stepan and McDonagh, I would be sitting there saying I deserved at the very least 4.5M for my contributions to the team. Hagelin and Zucc? Thats even worse. How do you convince these two they are only worth 1.25M-2M when we are seeing players that aren't as talented or hardworking getting 2.5-3.5M per season? This is really bad for us right now, we don't even need an offer sheet to screw us, the market is doing that just fine.

Good depth signing. Most of the good teams are just filling holes; not creating holes in their salary cap structure.

Its amazing what the physical players are getting. If the new CBA is a winner for anyone, its those bottom 6 guys, theyre getting PAID.

You have got to be kidding me? Thats all he signed for? I would have given him 1M without a second thought.
