really annoyed about this one. Could have been signed at $2 mil at those four years. - airjan23
Yes, a low cost option for the bottom six. That one bothers me as well. |

Yea no way they bring back Richards for a transition year. It is pretty much cup or bust IMO |

It looks like Brooks was on the money with his assumptions that Lapierre or Moore would be making their way here. |

I don't know how much he is worth, but wouldn't mind sniffing around Brunner to gauge some price and interest |

Everyone needs to relax about the lack of movement from Sather. We all seem to forget that this past season was a bit of an anomally. The team was incohesive, inconsistent, and our top players underperformed for long portions of the season. This roster was already significantly improved at the deadline. Lets just see what they can do. |

It wouldn't hurt to see what his deal is. I am not at all upset at what is going on, from a Rangers standpoint. |

How any Rangers fan can be upset at how their team isn't getting involved in the lunacy, is beyond me. |

Well, we all knew he would get 5 million, which honestly isnt so bad for Filppula. You can argue his stats could be inflated because he played with some really good guys in Detroit.
Filppula @ 5m
Clarkson @ 5.25m
Horton @ 5.3m
Which one is best? |

I don't see one team that significantly improved this offseason, with the exception of maybe the Flyers. Despite the contracts being iffy, for this season, Streit and Lecavalier will help Philadelphia out. Emery on a one year deal was also a pretty smart signing as well.
The Wings got Alfredsson and Weiss but they already lost Filppula and likely will lose Brunner as well. Kinda evens out over there. |

His stats were never really that good though. Five million dollars and never a 30 goal season. Can't defend that signing, sorry. |

I'm upset about guys like Hendricks and Nystrom, I would like to see Pouliot or Brunner and Blum on D sign, but other than that it's been total stupidity |

Again, youre not just paying for his scoring, he learned a lot defensively from Datsyuk. Hes a good 2 way center. |

I agree but there are still plugs out there to be signed. I wouldn't mind Lapierre or Moore, especially Moore. Eithe rone of those guys is comparable to Hendricks. As far as Nystrom goes, yea he was intriguing but I bet Nashville overpaid for his services as well. |

Five million dollars and you better put up at least 55 points. One thing to get Prust money, for the intangibles, it's quite another to get paid five million dollars a season. Filppula needs to put up a substantial amount of points or else this contract looks heinous. |

He is a center that got stuck Behind Datysuk and Zetterberg. He can score more with more opportunity. I wouldn't want the Rangers to give him that contract, but it's not the worst I've seen today. Center are always expensive and he is a good player. |
