IDK, at least they can't blame all of this on the Rangers. - tomburton99
just wait... somehow they will find a way. |

It's nice, doubt it will stop the other ignorant fan bases but still nice - cranford93
Yep, like I said in the highly comedic Devils thread, the Rangers only have one current suspect contract and that is Richards.
Devils have a slew of insane contracts going on and unfortunately, they aren't the only team that has lost their minds this summer.
Looks like Detroit is hell bent on having as many bad deals on their roster as humanly possible. That Weiss deal is awful. |

I think 4.9 for Weiss is better than 3 million for Gordon or 3.5 million for Matt Cullen. |

Ahhhh whatever, there are better UFAs next year. Let these teams spend themselves out of it for next year. |

Now that it has become clear we're dancing with the broad we brought for this year, who exactly are the top free agent for next year? |

The cap could go up by 8 million. Everybody will spend next year. |

Not a single deal so far today that I wouldn't be pissed if the Rangers gave a player. I think Bozak was a decent deal for the Leafs, and Ference for the Oilers, but otherwise a bunch of deals that team will regret. |

If it goes up by 10% that's 6 million dollars. The cap went up that much every before this up coming season. |

Hahaha, Boyd Gordon gets three million a season.
This league will not exist after the current CBA expires. How do you justify handing out money, like this, to players that are considered third/fourth line guys? - MidnightMarauder
Well, individual contracts aren't a problem for the league in whole. Handing out these ridiculous contracts for players not worth it is just gonna be a cap issue for the respective teams to have to work out. As long as the Revenue sharing system works (which it should seeing how that was the biggest problem), the league itself should be fine. The GMs need to rethink their contract strategies because there will be a lot of teams in cap trouble 3 years down the line, unless the cap increases tremendously. But its not going to, not with the new growth structure. |
