There is absolutely no use for Bergevin to do that, does he need the cap space? ... to sign who? Grabovski? talk about 4 trente-sous pour une piasse

And it's not like we have many NHL-ready prospects just waiting for their chance.

If we could get a serviceable player for him, I'm sure Bergevin would consider it ... but the overall consensus seem to be that he's worth Nothing and Nothing don't help the club, DD on the other hand is more than able to help.

Bottom line is, everyone including Desharnais himself know he had a bad season and chances are he will do better in the upcoming one.

To sign a (frank)ing Defenseman. One of the biggest "soft" spot with this team last year was the D without Emelin and he's out for a big chunk of the start of the season.
