I think Gionta performed well with us... if we didn't have so many small players already, I wouldn't mind keeping him for less than the 5M he's making right now.

Omg an elaborate ruse if I ever saw one.

The referee, 20-year-old Otávio Jordão da Silva, was arguing over a call with 30-year-old player Josenir dos Santos Abreu when things became heated; Abreu took a swing at Silva. Silva responded by whipping out a knife and stabbing Abreu. Josenir died en route to the hospital.

Abreu’s family and friends responded immediately to the attack by storming the field and beating Silva. The mob then stoned Silva to death, lynched, quartered and finally beheaded him. The mob placed Silva’s head on a spike in the middle of the field.

The crime took place in the Brazilian state of Maranhão and the local authorities have apprehended a 27-year-old male and are currently looking for two other suspects in connection to the murder.
