I'm surprised by all of the negative comments I am hearing on numerous forums about this deal. It's not a major commitment and there really is everything to gain and nothing to lose. The Habs need to get bigger and they will. But you can never have enough scoring. I like the deal. |

why not wait a couple of days/weeks to see what Bergevin's plan is?
truth is, I prefer a top 6 with Brière rather than with Gionta ...
so if his intent is to replace one of DD or Gio with this signing, it improves the team IMO |

Eric, the playoffs exposed the Habs' major holes. in all honesty, does signing Briere address a single one of them? and please don't point to his playoff scoring prowess because he's now going to be playing on a team with very little size up front.

I think their inability to score goals in the playoffs was a pretty glaring hole. They scored 2, 3, 1, 2 and 1 goals, respectively in their 5-game series loss to Ottawa. |

Briere was pretty productive for the most part in Philly. team went to one ECF and SCF. overpaid yeah but that wasn't a bad signing. |
