On a smaller signing I would love if we could sign Ryan Jones from the Oilers one of their hardest working players hustles every shift and would fit in perfectly with our hard working system he might not be the twenty goal guy we are hoping for but he would be a big time addition |

Clarkson has had a knack for scoring some clutch goals, but he in no way, shape or form drives the offense. He really doesn't create much, as his very low assist totals show. I like clarkson's heart, but let's be honest. He doesn't skate well, doesn't generate much, doesn't kill penalties, isn't known as a 2-way player. I like the goal scoring ability and heart but I can't imagine any GM paying him 6M+ per year and not regretting it.
Thanks for your time here Clarkie. Best of luck elsewhere. |

No, I just think he's a $5M 3rd liner. |

I like it except for that second line. Who will put the biscuit in the basket for them? Maybe Teddy would do really well with Henrique and Clowe. |

Clowe has more actual skill than Clarkson, though I can't say I am a huge fan of Clowe. If the deal is 4M or more per year I am not going to be happy with it though I doubt it could be anywhere near that much. Clowe can play in front on the PP, which is big with our style of PP...and a role Clowe can replace Clarkson in. I would hope this would just be one of two or three signings today. If so, then I'll be pretty cool with it. |

Maybe.
Tedenby-Josefson-Clarkson was actually a good line a few seasons ago. I like Clowe's offensive upside more than Clarkson's. Clarky was beneficiary of some good luck (not to take anything away from him) in front of the net, he'll have huge dry spells. Just look at last season. Clowe has more skill for sure.
But put Tedenby in top 9 who do you take out? Josefson? Henrique? Zubrus who they just re-signed? Clowe assuming he is signed? If you're gonna play all those guys why sign anyone? |

Good question. I dunno who I would move out. Hopefully after today, Lou gives us an idea of what the roster will look like. |

$12.8 million to work with. We have 7 D men signed, 2 goalies, and 10 forwards. Barch is the 13th forward. Henrique and Josefson are RFAs. Think we can get a couple of impact players through free agency. Hopefully Clowe is not more than $4 million if he is sigining here. |

there really arent any "impact" UFA's there are some good players but no impact players

I've been told that Patrick Elias was Red Wings first choice. With Elias wanted to stay with the Devils, they had to look for another option |

Soo no announcment on Clowe yet. Maybe it was all smoke and no fire? Or maybe theyre still working on contract details. |

Please don't "wait" for Clarkson decision to make any moves Lou, let's not get screwed like we did last year waiting for Parise... |

I think we're set on centers, but good on a small market team like Pheonix for making a splash. Us poopty teams have to stick together in a world of Flyer and Ranger contracts being handed out. |

Ribeiro and Ference were both very good signings by their respective teams. |
