GREAT day if we could manage it. Hendricks is another faceoff ace, a good PK guy and he will hit and defend his teammates. Would LOVE him in Chi-Town - kwolf68

From what I read, he wants to parlay this into a bigger payday the season after. Don't see how he couldn't have done that here, as CC isn't the long term solution. Seems many teams are embracing the 2 goalie plan, unless they have a stud in net, but they need to pay them big, big, money. - howiehandles
Who - besides posters here - have said Crawford isn't the long-term solution? He quite possibly will price himself out of here when his contract is up, but who knows? Certainly not something Emery can count on.
And if true, who is likely to be next in line - a 33 year old Emery, still unproven as a starter, or a younger Antii Raanta?
No, if Emery wants to be a starter - and believes he can be - he had to move on. |

Why do you always seem to be happier at proving people here wrong than you are about the Hawks winning the Cup? - StLBravesFan
Nobody is happier about the cup win. I was expecting it all along. I believed in these guys all along. Paul and I have a lot of fun poking at each other.
It is not so much proving others wrong, it is simply a matter of sticking to my convictions. Not sure if you notice, but I get plenty of flack and crap standing by guys/ideas.
I guess as I think about what you said, it is not that I enjoy proving others wrong. I just like being right more often then being wrong. |

Oilers with a couple of nice signings. Exactly the type of players they need, in Ference and Gordon. Gritty, physical, vets. |

You must not have watched the playoffs. He was solid for most of it. His smarts are a bigger plus than his lack of speed at this point. If it's under $1.5 or so it's a decent signing. Gives them a lot of protection if Pirri doesn't work out.

would have preferred they sent him on an ice float with a gold watch
we'll see where dollars are at, but if he is signed to be 4C its a good move

Just look at the Bowman's history with goalies. They're not gonna lock him up to a huge deal, that's not their style. And just because this year the money might be tight for free agent goalies, doesn't mean next year won't. All the other number 1's are getting, or have, big bucks. If some team feels that they need a number 1, and have the $$, no reason they won't do it. Plenty of teams that will have the money to spend.
Emery is unproven as a starter? Only with regards to his hip health. Outside of that, he's proven he can play as a starter. |

For a guy who had nothing left in the tank he certainly helped us a lot!
Insurance if nothing else. Not a bad move. |

Zus will be a great signing. He can center on the PK, center on L2-C if needed, kills penalties, wins draws. He is slow, but makes up for it by being smart. He also sold out to help the Hawks win the Cup playing with several injuries. He is part of the Cup team and I am happy he is back. - kwolf68
He just slows his line mates down and gets slower as the game gets longer ...
I have no problem with them using him as 4C, but I don't think that's their actual intention; I think he's 2C "insurance" when Pirri flops. |
