OK. They might be right, but CapGeek does only cap numbers for a living, and TSN was quoting CapGeek numbers during their coverage today.

http://capgeek.com/player/438

Iginla cap hit: $6 mil.

As for the Hawks and Khabby, doesn't make much of a difference with only $300k on the line.

I think CapGreek will do an update when the dust finally settles on some of these signing. You're right 1.7 or 2.0 mil., pretty high cap hit for back up goalie.

After being sooo undersized at that, imagine if Hayes and McNeil develop as dependable 2/3 line centers. It'd be nice.
- miked23

Hayes has the size and hands to work the dot, dont know how high he would project. Maybe #3 C spot? Dunno. McNeil? I keep hearing mixed things about him. Coming out he was supposed to a big banger C prospect, but then he looked pretty bad at thr Jr tournament. (but so did the majority of the Canadian team) Others commented on seeing him play and that he didnt look too interested in hitting anything. This next prospects camp will be very interesting. In any event, this Hawks team is built for the long haul. World class talented/young core with a pipe line of good prospects coming up. Also very interested to see how TT does in the camp. Phuck I love this sport and this team..

No. In fact, HELL NO!

Hayes is no center. You've seen him skate, right? What makes you think he can play a 200' game?

At this point, I'd like to get a center that's capable of scoring. If he can have some size..wonderful.

I actually paid for Huey's ticket back to France...got him a nice aisle seat in the cargo hold

You're a better man than me. I would've loaded him in catapult or trebuchet as it's known in his native tongue and shot him back home. Vive le France!

Easy now... he needs work with the skates obviously. I was making a general observation. Zeus cant skate all that fast and he does ok. Give him some time and see what happens. These kids are prospects. Might take a year or two..

With you 200%.. but as we have seen, Stanley aint doing it. So we roster juggle and work the kids down on the farm to see what happens.

Maybe he meant 3C at Rockford...or maybe the feeder league for Rockford

Actually this should all be in black and bolded.

Skating speed is much different from being able to skate at all. Hayes isn't overly strong there. I've said it before, and usually someone laughs at it, but Hayes' skating reminds me of a rabid raccoon stumbling around in the daylight. It's an honest observation from what Ive seen in the stands. Sure, he could improve, but I don't think it will improve all that much.

lineup looks pretty decent

bickell/toews/kane
sharp/brandon pirri/hossa
saad/kruger/shaw
bollig/handzus/ben smith

with guys like carcillo on the bench and jimmy hayes, jeremy morin, and perhaps joakin nordstrom, danualt, mcneil, and others from rockford able to be called up and sent down as needed.

I know Handzus will be used all over the place, 2c, 4c, etc., along with Shaw and Kruger, Which should allow them to break Pirri in slowly if they need to.

As others pointed out, some of those vets might miss the start of the season, which isn't awful because it gives some of the kids a chance to get more experience before going back to Rockford.

And while we wait for Rozy's cap hit number, we know they'll still have room to make a deal if needed during the season if the kids disappoint or an important vet gets a major injury.

So overall, the outlook is pretty good, especially compared to after the 2010 Cup.

You never know but I wouldn't expect miracles headed into this season. That was always a knock on Brouwer (not the drunken raccoon thing) but he has, at least in my opinion turned that into a positive.

Not saying Hayes will ever be that because I think his learning curve will need to be higher if he's ever to get to that level.

TramyersCSN: #Blackhawks did qualify Drew LeBlanc. Bowman: "We have to work on a new deal, which we’ll get to."

and

BrianHedger: Bowman, on conference call, says Leblanc will be in the mix for #Blackhawks at training camp. They have to work out a new deal tho.

Q saw it plenty hence the double benching.....you guys can cry a river for Vik...good on ya....but y'all would be female dog'n up a storm if he signed with us for $3 mil/yr so PHUCK'N SPARE ME THE BULL SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHIT
- philco28

Excuse me Philco....I've been posting for months Stalberg was going to get a minimum 3 million....the writing was on the wall when he didn't play well in the post season and Bickell's play was huge. What I don't get is this illusion he has this huge ego and is selfish because he wants to be a top six player and he will not get the opportunity to do that in Chicago. Whether or not he ends up as a true top six with Nashville has yet to be determined.....so relax.

I'm not pencilling in Pirri. Don't think he's all that and a bag of chips, as the cool kids used to say.

But TSN's Craig Button shouted out to him on the FA Frenzy coverage today.

I'd think the guys from Rockford most likely to get rotated if needed are Morin, Hayes, Pirri, and LeBlanc, unless I'm missing someone. Maybe one spot only with 1 at a time up unless to fill in for IR guys. If you look at the roster, once they resign Kruger, there isn't much room if everyone is healthy.

....and this makes it all better?
