Wonder what kind of money it would have taken to bring back Huet or Turco...

I don't see where all of the Rockford kids are going to fit. There might be one or two spots, and that's about it.

Stop penciling in Pirri before he's earned any sort of job on the big club.

As needed and one of the following...LeBlanc, Danault or Perry

I've gotten the distinct feeling over the past 4-5 years, that the Hawks Brass does not view the "second line center situation" as being all that critical. Really , why should this year be any different?
- Ogilthorpe2

The 2C thing has been "iffy" because of Bolly, but now that he's gone, the need for 2C is completely unambiguous, and someone is going to have to be assigned the role.

Sharp I'm certain can fill the role, but I like him on the wing... Zeus can do it for brief periods, but only as a stop-gap... People keep throwing Pirri's name all over the place... Kruger?

Not according to CapGeek.
- Hemingways

From TSN :
Iginla's contract is cap-friendly for the Bruins, counting just $1.8 million in 2013-14. If he achieves any or all of the $4.2 million in performance bonuses, that money counts in 2014-15.

Khabibulin contract would be the same as Iginla's as for bonus money and cap hit in 2013-14.

Khabby for 1.7. This one is a little confusing, but I guess I get the point. Remaining F/A are terrible and Khabby is ... well actually I don't get the point. Several backups were signed today for under 1 million per. Why do we have to push 2 million per to get this guy?

Any chance we can move the IceHogs to Chicago and save on the $$$ allotted for transporting call ups ?

Yeah Huey's money is off the books. He's enjoying a nice bottle of burgundy and some gruyere back in the motherland.

I guess if it's going to go down that way, maybe it isn't so bad after all.

I agree its a tad of an over pay, but we dont know if Khabby was on the phone with anyone else. Look at the contracts today... over pay was the way of the deals. Rediculous. I think we got a good deal on Bicks contract. Thats if he doesnt go Dustin Penner and disappear. With Bicks size and skill, anything less then 20 goals a year is theft on his part. He should be a 25-30 goal scorer every year. At least 21-30 goals hows that?!.. Over all.. Im still shaking my head at the way owners were throwing money around like it was going outa style.

Hey...watch it.

I don't think the Hawks would ever partner up with the Wolves. One of the reasons being that the Wolves do less player development, and more with putting a winning product out on the ice.

OK. They might be right, but CapGeek does only cap numbers for a living, and TSN was quoting CapGeek numbers during their coverage today.

http://capgeek.com/player/438

Iginla cap hit: $6 mil.

As for the Hawks and Khabby, doesn't make much of a difference with only $300k on the line.

I wouldn't add LeBlanc to that list. Not yet.

Honestly, I could see Morin and/or Hayes breaking camp in Chicago. Maybe sharing one spot.

- EKolb13

Help me with this one...

Didn't I hear that j Hayes was moved to center last year. He was then called up and played his off wing. I'm not sure of all the details, but I believe mgmnt still is pretty high on him.

Yeah, Hayes lined up at center for the second half of the season. It wasn't pretty, I'll leave it at that.

You did.. I did so more reading on that and they said he struggled at the start, but then finished real strong at C. Another option I think.

After being sooo undersized at that, imagine if Hayes and McNeil develop as dependable 2/3 line centers. It'd be nice.
