I doubt Rozsival gets $2.5, he got 2 years do he'd have to give on the dollars.
- DarthKane

Exactly. I could even see Rosy at 3.6 over two years for a 1.8 hit. That would be a good deal (for both). The guy is better and more important than a lot of people think in Hawks nation and I am one happy guy he is back.

LMAO, Cleary? Really...PK...LMAO...Your post is akin to listening to my grandpa say...TV remote? Who needs it, I can get up and change the damn channel myself....

Cleary...

Oh come on TG you'll get over Viktor 'I' Stalberg signing with the defence oriented Preds. If not you can always buy your yellow #25 jersey.

As I said that is Viktor 'I' Stalberg who doesn't fit on Jonathan 'we' Toews' team.

Interesting comment by the Ottawa GM during his presser: we are not a cap team, we're a budget team.

They have no intention of spending to the cap, even with the sixth est attendance in the league.

Capgeek: 20 players signed, $14.6MM in cap space.

If I were a season ticket holder, I'd be more passed that they're not spending to the cap to win a Cup than that they lost Alfredsson.

Here are the two big moves on the way...you heard it here first. Luongo will be bought out and Tim Thomas will sign in Vancouver...with all the mythical problems...

Second, Carolina is looking at the Hawks best Beer Vendor from the 300 section to add some winning pedigree to their sales team. The deal is huge.

Not really....when you consider the Western Conference to be better than the Eastern....Pitt still has goalie issues....Boston lost some depth.....NYR...who knows...Wash...eeh....Detroit will be a top four and have a chance. It also wouldn't surprise me if CBJ made the playoffs...
- UnnamedSource

Definitely. I just think the Wings aren't really built for the style of play during the regular season in the East... a lot of heavy hitting, dirty teams out there... Staying healthy might be a big issue, especially for their already-thin D.

I agree CBJ is going to surprise a lot of people this year.. That roster is looking good & having the best goalie in the league doesn't hurt.

Now wouldn't that be funny! Except the owner won't buy him out. If Luongo doesn't play they'll be happy to suspend him and not pay him.

I might, I just can't stop laughing at the Kotex mafia's full out assault on Vic. Next thing you know we are going to hear he took the last marble rye from some old polish lady on the south side.

Or that he was the cause of the lock out in the first place. Ever since he took your beach ball, you have not cut him any slack.

Thomas never had any locker room issues. In fact, he was extremely well liked by his D men.

Bring him in for a year or 2 at a low price and he provides some great insurance. many of these other true backups are just that - good for a fill in or tops 10-15 games. Not insurance for long stretches like we had with Emery.

Highly doubtful the year off impacted him that much. Talking about a guy who worked his way into the NHL at 32. He knows work.

Not pointed at you but the character assassination on the guy because he shafted everybody's pet in the WH is ridiculous.

- tredbrta

This hard working self-made Tea Party fan - he's going to be happy and not cause any problems playing only fill-in or 10-15 games per year?

I wouldn't be surprised if Brookbank saw more time on the 4th line wing and Stanton was kept around as an 8th defenseman.

Guess I just don't understand the Stalberg angst...

He didn't cost much, was a decent contributor, wasn't any trouble away from the rink, don't recall his teammates throwing him under the bus.

Had a few issues with Q this year, and the Hawks won another Cup anyway.

Moving on to Nashville...

...I just shrug and wish him luck (except when he faces the Hawks).

It's just not worth any further comment.

I don't think that will be happening any time soon, as the compliance buyout window for this year ended yesterday at 5 p.m., so if Luongo is to be bought out it will have to wait until next summer.

He may voluntarily retire like Thomas did. Thomas would actually give that team character and toughness.

LOL...

He took that instead of a 3 year deal.

Great that he bets on himself but DAT is one big risk with his injury. He is expecting to take the starting job this year and get a big deal next. He could just as easily blow that hip again. He also has to beat a guy Holmgren claims he has wanted for a long time in Mason who is still young.

Hope Ray has some serious insurance.

I have no problem with what Ottawa is doing. They're being smart about their spending. They just got bobby ryan. That's a huge deal right there and way better than Alfie would have been this season.

Not to mention, they aren't afraid to make trades. Murray said that they are looking for another D-man (who isn't) but I would be shocked if he didn't get something.
