I think you just like seeing all these players in Rockford for a year or two
- BearsnHawks

Actually, I do.

However, I'm not one who likes to see the kids rushed to the big club. I'd rather see them earn it.

What is wrong with New Jersey? They let Clarkson walk and then sign Clowe - 4 - 5 years older with a fraction of the production last year for marginally less.

Cannot believe Clowe got that money. Same with Weiss and Ribeiro!

Owners are screwing themselves.

- tredbrta

Compared to Clowe and the way he looked last season, Weiss and Ribeiro's deals are awesome. lol

JJ - hearing any rumblings now that some of the big fish are gone? Is Stan content with his resignings or think he'll add anyone else?

It kind seems like Bowman is going to leave cap room so the Pirri's, Morin's, Hayes' can get a look and then add mid-season or earlier if the team isn't right.

F'n A.. bye bye Veektor. Good gawd. Glad we got Rozy and Zeus back. Dont over work them during the season and come playoff time, your payoff comes back and then some. Stan was smart. Zeus and Rozy are the vet factor we lost when Sopel and Madden left. Not to say Tazer, Sharp and the others are not vets, but Zeus and Rozy are the old timer vets. Need those guys around to help the up and coming Rockford warriors.

And what about Cleary? Wouldnt mind having him on the 3/4 lines and on the PK. Still has a damn good shot and great motor.

At the very least, Bowman buys a goalie out of the "clearance" bin at the NHL Free Agent market.

Everyone on the D is back.....need a back up goalie.....so if everything holds.

88-19-29
10-16-81
20-65- Pirri?
28-26- Morin or Hayes?

Bolling/Carillo

See what I did Ekolb?

More I think about it Pirri may be better suited at wing....

Not too many of those left. Khoudobin going to CAR for $800K....that guy will be a good one. That was a swing and a miss.

Would not feel good about Theodore or Hedberg types. Need someone to give you 25-30 quality starts. #nooldguys

Yes on Pirri, but I plug Benny Smith in on that 3rd line. Better fit all the way around. And if we are gonna pay Car Bomb, might as well use him on the 4th line.

I think at least one depth forward is signed plus a backup.

The one question I have is do they bring in a second center so Zus doesn't play 82 games. Rozy also will need some breaks but they have Brookbank (yikes)

Bickell, Bollig, and Sharp (not pictured) took batting practice at Wrigley today and will sing the 7th inning stretch.

I don't blame Vik for wanting a bigger role. Not sure he would ever get it with the Hawks. Now he'll have the opportunity, and the minutes, to prove himself.

But...Barry Trotz will demand he plays a 2-way game so we'll see how that works out.

Actually, minus the numbers being thrown around, this proves that the system put in place is working. It's not the same old big market teams making the splash in free agency anymore. Nashville, Columbus, Dallas, Edmonton, Detroit, etc., being active in signing players is good for the overall health of the league. Parity is good. The cap will go up again, as will revenues, and you can bet there will be more labor strife in 2019 as the two sides wrangle about how to divide all the money. Unfortunately, it's the way it is in the NHL.

I wouldn't be surprised in BBank is moved and Stanton fills that role...Also, If Zues does sit out....Smith and Pirri can slide in at center....if in fact Pirri is at wing.

Apparently, the Canadian TV contacts will be renewed after next year - should be a big revenue boost.

League would have been much better off letting Coyotes move to Quebec City.
