He's getting close enough. He was just bought out by the Devils a day or two ago. I think there's still something left in the tank. He had better numbers than Theodore or Boucher.

Mathieu Garon is still out there too.

Chet Pickard is available. Who in the heck is that? Nashville gave him 1.3 last year?
- hockey nut 28

Yeah, what ever happened to that guy? I remember watching him play for Milwaukee a couple of season back.

I wouldn't say he's the guy to bring in, but hey, anything's possible.

Yea nothing to get excited over. Crow just picked up a lot of new Blackhawks fans. I think we're fine with the Crow...just need someone to pickup a few starts here and there.

I don't think it's too big of a concern. He's been qualified, so that worry is over with. I think the Kruger situation will work itself out.
- EKolb13

Exactly. He does not have to sign today. Be patient everyone!

Numbers aside, find a better veteran for under $1 million for the season.

Bryzgolov: .900 save percentage..... or Thomas..... I would take either on 1 yr deals for cheap, otherwise, I am not happy with any of these options....

Do you think they are better than what Raanta could bring as a backup?

Not impressive on the surface for sure, but none of them played behind the best defense in the league.

Why not just use our young guys... Raanta, Simpson, and Carruth. One goes up to the NHL other two split time in Rockford? Not impressed with any of the junk thats left....

But would Raanta be better served having his first North American experience be playing 50 games in Rockford rather than 20-30 in Chicago - and, thus, be better for the Hawks in two years?

Agreed...not worried about the backup goal situation. It'll sort itself out.

Going forward I just want the Hawks to keep signing Finnish free agent net minders and all will be well.

Well... by trade he is. The Flyers sent him to Chicago because they had too many C in the system at the time being Carter and Richards. So when Sharp came up, he was considered a C. Which he played and is a damn good C in my book.. just an FYI
- z1990z

well, looking at his bio...C is not listed as his position....anywhere.. if its wrong, so be it....i didnt follow him closely in his college and Flyer early days.....my bad....
Since the Hawks got him...where has he played and excelled?
He had a good playoff run at C....not his daily gig
So Q is wrong about playing Sharp at W? He has had ample oportunity to move him there, yet hasnt? Wonder why??? Gotta be Sharpie refusing to play C and an entire organization accepting his demands

NO!

Absolutely not! You have to give the kids in goal time to build confidence and learn from their mistakes. That's what the minors are for.

Quit basing everything on stats.

Columbus has a good coach and a nice team....could be a playoff team.

They're in the East now though, making the playoffs won't be easy.
