No word on Campbell or Cleary....phuck NJ...Corey Schneider ain't winning a CUP.

If that Ryder deal is true that is a great bargain. The Hawks should call Ryder.

So with Stalberg going to the Preds does that mean Leddy gets more ice time in those games? There's no fear of Stally scoring so it's a perfect matchup!

Really...with all of the nonsense on this board my occasional request for the obvious solution bugs you enough...

...to go all CAPS, and BOLD?

Sorry, but you'll be disappointed. I'll continue my quarterly suggestion of the transparently obvious...

...Patrick Sharp can play center ice on the second line better that anyone else currently under contract.

So keep the caps lock ON.

- ArlingtonRob

And Sharp did take some faceoffs this playoff year. When Zus was getting flamed at the dot Sharp would take the draw and slide back to the wing position. I agree that Sharp could be a center, especialy if injuries creep in with a condensed schedule due to the olympics.

I wouldn't be surprised if the league hands out another compliance buyout to each team next season.

I will be disappointed by a few clamoring for Sharp at C - he played there out of necessity 4 seasons ago - did well - doesn't mean he is a true center. He is a sniper - needs to play wing to be at his best, not sure why they would pay a guy 6m to play out of position

Isn't Kane a better option at C? Guessing your answer is no, why?

- dpard

Didn't like Kane at C when they tried it...

Bad at the dot
Not tough enough for 200' game
Not responsible enough defensively
Much better production at wing.

Sharp is good at the dot and his production remained high.

I'm sure others could add to why Kane at C is not a good idea.

Just to clarify, I'd prefer the Hawks to find a solid, true #2, to fill the spot. It's just that the organization seems to be unwilling to pay for it, and is waiting for salvation from within...

...centermen developing from junior or the AHL.

But until then the armchair GM's, me included, bark out suggestions from the cheap seats.

Generally Zus was awesome on faceoffs...in the playoffs he had a broken wrist, which probably had just a LITTLE BIT of an impact on his ability to win draws.

Zus is clearly our 2nd best faceoff guy after Captain.

I'd agree with this...

...but for 2C he's skating in mud at his age. Hawks could use more giddyup to make that line go.

Why not? They won in 2010 with him at 2C. And besides, Pirri would do less damage on the wing than at center. I don't understand it, either. You have Sharp right there, and they'd let a no-D rookie or an old turtle take that important position. Just makes no sense at all.
