True, but unless they move or bury Carcillo/Brookbank/someone unexpected, not much room on the roster.

CapGeek shows 22 guys under contract, but that includes Morin and Hayes. Let's say Pirri takes one of those spots and we sign a vet backup goalie. That leaves one spot up for grabs by a vet signing or the Rockford Files.

Bringing back the best D core in the NHL is huge. Handzus and Rosey are glue guys in the locker room. We will defend the Cup with almost the same team. I would like to see Stan land Khudobin, 27 years old, made 800 thousand last year, would be a solid backup to Crow and would allow Raanta to play in Rockford.

No one will ever be happy, we won the Stanley Cup a week and a half ago with a record setting team, but we find ways to get upset. We lost no one on our top 2 lines, our defense will stay exactly the same (granted Leddy signs). Bolland hurts to lose as a fan, and Frolik hurts with his effort and PK skills. I'm excited about having basically the same team as the team that won the cup.

Does anyone really think the Hawks are gonna pay Crawford that much? Al,Wiz,JJ...this front office realizes he isn't that good,and that the defense in front of him is the reason he is looking good out there....right? Would hate to see the Hawks throw that kind of money at him
