The isles had the choice to not let a year go off his contract because he didn't play, meaning he would still have 1 year with them. But they chose to let it pass and him become a UFA.

You'd better hope we don't sign Thomas then. It will be all over. Non-stop jokes.

With everyone else playing catch up signing the flavors of the week, the Hawks resign Rosy and Zus and virtually keep the best team in hockey INTACT.

The defense is identical to last year and we'll have Ryan Stanton to share the load a bit.

In all seriousness, I would not doubt if many guys receive offer sheets from various clubs. It is a matter of the player signing that sheet that is the issue. You would think that statistically via comparables, Kruger and his agent know what a fair deal is. They also know what their plan is for his career. Would have to be something huge and real to get him even to look elsewhere.

My main point was that offer sheets are probably floated, but most not even considered.

I believe the team can opt to toll the contract if it chooses. Even if they don't, he's still theirs for many more years. They can force him to play there or nowhere - but will they want a really pissed off guy at the start of a new regime there? Maybe he feels they will get rid of him too, if he makes a big enough stink...

I think the Leafs deal will be for close to $5M a season while I heard Edmonton is offering $6.5M a season, term unknown.

Any rule changes on goalie pad size yet... During the playoff they kept talking about Crows pads being 10- 12" higher then they should be.. hope not could really affect his game.
