Ok, so - right now (assuming Kruger is back) - Bolland, Frolik, Stalberg, Emery gone - replaced by Pirri, Morin, Smith, Question Mark - happy with this?
Contending team next year?
However the lines shake out, can Q consistently roll four lines like he could this year? - StLBravesFan
I think it's not the most ideal but with the experience gained by the 2nd tier players (Kruger, Saad, Shaw, Leddy) they need to step up and make way for a couple of the other youngsters.
At least Pirri, Morin, Smith and Stanton if they were to see time next year aren't overwhelmed 19 year olds - they're all 22-24 years of age.
They just need to make quick decisions if these guys aren't cutting it... to cut them lose and move on. It's a make or break year this year for some.
Like JJ said, a revolving door from Rockford should be the theme for some of those roles this year. |

don't thinkbreaking the bank is Emery'sconcern but rather his complete lack of being a starter, as if that's a realistic thought anyway. - paulr
He missed time twice that I can remember with minor injuries in a shortened season. I don't see how he can realistically think his body can hold up to starter minutes. |

Ideally someone can step in and take a spot right away. |

As I said if he was being realistic.
Let's face it too, many of us refuse to believe we're over the hill or not capable anymore. I'm sure Emery wants to prove to himself that he still has it. |

I think Ben Smith will be a nice replacement for Stals on the 3rd line, as long as he stays healthy and avoids concussions. |

I'm not quite sure why Afredsson feels he has a better chance at a Cup with the Red Wings...who are now in the east.
Seems like a lateral move at best... |

I asked the question yesterday and I'll ask it again;
Is Pittsburgh using a different cap then the rest of the league?
Someone on the panel asked the same question today and Pierre chimed in with this beauty - "creative management, Shero is a genius"
Just don't get it. |

He said that moving to another team is a different challenge then another year as a mentor in Ottawa.

A little odd though that Detroit spent around $10 mil on Alfredsson and Weiss and didn't add at least 5 d-men. |

Maybe they are looking for double-digit scores each night! Howard is going to die sometime during the season. |

He'll be 41 in December and he's looking for a new challenge? Perhaps he means the commute to the Joe each day. |

Considering the Wings were like 2 loses from missing the playoffs this past year...not sure why he's so optimistic about "hockeytown"...
...and zero upgrade to the defense. |

Depending on how long it takes for injuries/surgeries to heal - Toews, Sharp, Hossa, Handzus, Bickell, who knows how many others - they may have some time to let these guys prove themselves.
Add in Cup hangover issues and This may be a work in progress into January. |
