Really though. Which is a more likely scenario for Philly going after Ray Emery instead of Miller. Is it because they think Emery is better than Miller? or is it because the Price for Miller is too high, and the GM wont budge?
- ImThatGuy

Is the price too high? I cant wait to see all the female doging and moaning on this site if we dont get a big return for Miller when he is traded.

Miller for Josh Bailey and a 2nd from NYI and run with it.
- ImThatGuy

Fine.

Works for me.

I'm sure Darcy will ask for Tavares, and then wonder why a deal can't be made.

It's not the end yet, we have a 2nd next year still. For all we know that ends up the nest player in the deal

We still have a 2nd rounder next draft... Plus we won't know who wins that trade for another 3-4 years.

Who cares, purely by not being on the team it is addition by subraction.

From everything I've heard on Larsson, only Girgensons will outwork him.

Zadorov? Sounds good on paper.

Hackett is the wild card. Do we have our future #1 here?

Too early to answer.

On paper, we win.

All the people who pissed and moaned about only getting a 5th rounder for Brennan. Because Darcy so overvalued him.

This is something that I absolutely agree with. But that wont stop half of these guys from complaining for the next 15 months...

If Minnesota wins the cup next year (or after that but with Pomminville on their roster), they win. Anything short of that, Sabres win.

Yes the price is too high...and the cap hit is too high, Philly will be up against it, so would need to have Sabres take back a bad contract in exchange...that could become next years buyout target

Oh for sure.

Unfortunately though I see him remaining a Sabre. My only hope is that he has a really good year and Darcy moves him for a high price to a contender. But he will probably ask for too much and we'll lose him for nothing to FA.

Even if they win the Cup, it could still be a win win depending on how the guys we got in return work out for us. I would be surprised if they are able to keep him on their roster after next year even with the cap going up as much as they are suggesting. Pommer has a few more real good years left in him, but I think he will start to feel the wear and tear of the 80 game seasons...

Smid was traded for Blum?
- OneKaneOneCup

Sorry no. It's true that Blum is a UFA and was not qualified. There is no trade involving him since he isn't Nashville's asset any longer.

I was gonna say that's awful for Edmonton. I would bring in Blum as a 6-7th guy though

That is what drives me bonkers....I try very hard to ignore the negativity and everyone has there own opnion but really if I bash everything about the sabres then I fit in.

winninng trades are about individual players not about winning the cup....Pomminville could've walked away next year for nothing....

Basically your theory is even if your team has no chance of winning the cup and you trade a player to a team with a chance to win the cup annd they win the cup then irrelevant of the players traded the cup winning team wins the trade against the non playoff team....

I am sorry but that theory just doesn't make sense.

I'm very shockey that Alfy is leaving! That's like when Modano left Dallas.

And its funny that he is going to Detroit just like Mike did...

For sure.

There are some players that need to be "lifers" with their original teams, and Alfie is one of them.

I guess you gotta do it if you really wanna try and win a cup! I just thought Ottawa was pretty close to being a contender.
