When the season starts, what do you think is the first thing people will complain about? Line combos/D pairings? Goaltending? Which goaltender being used? Lavi's system?

Nope me either. Simply didn't play well enough. Flyers recognized this, and made the correct decision.

Cooter getting traded, yea that might split the board... Not sure how I will feel, but yea I feel a move coming too... We'll see

I don't think Homer has ever been this universally liked. He kept the nucleus and added big names. He satisfied both the crazy and the intelligent fans

Not perfect by any means, but it's better than Leighton/Boucher by a fairly significant margin and that duo had the Flyers close.

I agree. You know he won't change his system now. Unless Mez is 100% back, they still don't have enough puck movers to play his way.

i still have this bad feeling a move is coming that will once again split the board and have everyone at each others' throats

this week cant possibly go as smoothly as it has thus far

Well they added Streit. And I have high hopes for Gustafsson. I still think they lack that top defenseman. And I have serious questions about this team's ability to play a hard two way game. But overall, I do like the roster. Just a few question marks.

A NMC doesnt guarantee that he will be with the team forever. It basically guarantees you won't get a very good return for him. He will give you a few places he would go to. In 3 years, players will be making so much that his 4.5M won't be bad. The cap went down this offseason and look what these 2nd tier players got.

They've got one more move coming this summer, to get under the cap. Depending on what it is...hopefully, it shouldn't be something too controversial, but at the same time, the move they do make is possibly going to be something that gets people talking.

Ray Emery on Steve Mason (Per Pistachio's blog, for those who didn't read), "He’s a guy who’s had success and he’s going to continue to get better. I just look at it as kind of a tandem relationship. Last year with me and Corey in [Chicago], it was more about the team success and we both kind of helped each other get better. As far as I know, that’s the best way to treat a goaltending relationship. I’m excited to work with him, teach him what I know about the game and what I’ve learned about the game, and I'm excited to work with a great young goalie. "

Eh I think it makes it difficult to move a guy. Lot of those clauses still on the roster going I to the following season

I like Gus too. I think the Flyers have very good depth and it will allow them to have one above average puck moving defenseman on the ice at all times
