Given some of the trade rumors, and the size of contracts handed out, I'm very pleased with what the Flyers did today.

The solidified the goaltending position for a very low cost, and added a capable AHL starter/emergency guy, didn't dump a poopload of cash into damaged goods(Horton), overpay for an underachiever(Clowe) or go nuts for a solid guy that is regarded more highly than his level of play(Clarkson).

I do wonder if there is another move out there, but all in all a solid day.

There has to be another move out there. They have 14 forwards before you count laughton, straka, raffl, mcginn.... etc. They have 1 to 2 too many d-men making over 3.5 million. And I think there is a reason Gagne hasn't signed with us or anyone else. I think a big move to come.

Perfect summary. I was expecting the worst today, but am pleasantly surprised that it turned into a nice, quiet day for the Flyers. We all know there is still a trade to be made, but so far, so good.
