Not sure I would be happy leaving a place like Anaheim for Ottawa. But the passion for hockey in Ottawa is amazing. I've been there. Anaheim not so much.

I dont really blame Alfredsson for leaving. Great player, and wants one last real shot to win the cup.

Alfie earned the right to play where he wants. He gave Ottawa everything he had for 15+ years.

hahah okay guess you're another expert on here. Its an overpayment, wouldnt do it for Weber doubt they would for those two either. Evander Kane borders on the over rated side as well.

Don't you think Detroit has a legit shot to compete for the Cup? They do every year. Why not Detroit

The day isn't over yet Nutter. Holmgren might get bored.

If no one is willing to take Meszaros could be a dilemma.

- PLindbergh31

True enough.

I dont think they will get anything of value for Mez, but I did secretly kind of hope they would be able to fit him in and give him another shot. When healthy he is an awesome player.

I just like that Holmgren didnt do anything really stupid. Although as you say, he could get bored and we see Coots + shipped off for Buff.

Why not Ottawa?

It's a shocker. As an Ottawa fan I would be livid if the team truly wanted to get something done. Their in the same division!

So, where are the Flyers cap-wise now? How much salary do they need to get rid of?

Right.

Detriot will also have Helm back, and they will be a machine next year. Howard showed he is for real.

Giroux better keep his head up with Kronwall lurking.

Agreed. The thing of value you get by trading Meszaros is the 4 million in cap space.

It's a shame the guy has turned into a chandelier. He literally never missed a game before he got to the Pretzel Factory.

K let me call up Homer then and tell him it's not happening It was just an idea dude. Kane is on the verge of becoming a superstar, and could easily be the best power forward in the league now, at age 21. What he does with the puck and with his body is amazing to watch. He'd fit perfectly on our 1st line with G and Jake long-term. Bogosian is a #2 defenseman NOW, at age 22, with stud potential that's also on the verge of coming out. He plays an awesome two-way game, and would be an amazing replacement for Kimmo.

Not a bad idea.

I just have concerns with both personally. Kane has big maturity questions and is a liability in the D zone too often. Bogosian has the injury concerns at such a young age.

For next Season, they're $1,053,522 over the $64.3M Upper Limit using the bonus cushion. Give or take a few thousand depending on who makes the team.
