Because Connor Mcdavid is a real person already. That will be eligible in the 2015 draft.

Do we have any players with 3M or higher contract that can be sent down and brought up without having to clear waivers?

I believe Brayden Schenn is still on his rookie contract.

So if Clarkson get's close to 6M a year, how does that make Giroux's 8.25 deal look? Had that discussion this morning.

Also, Emery for 1.65M could be a steal. If he plays to the same level as he did this past Season in Chicago. But there will be a different team in front of him, obviously.

Nah... The Flyers have 3 defensive pairings comparable to Keith/Seabrooke.

Doesn't matter. With the new CBA only 900K (top ELC #) can be taken off the cap if a player is waived. We'd keep the rest on the cap hit - no more burying contracts in the AHL...

Homer has been great...our roster has vastly improved in every aspect and I can confidently say the team we have on paper right now gets us back into the playoffs

I dont think thats correct Schenn and Couts are on two way deals can come and go with or without relief. I think you're thinking of players on 1 way deals that used to be buried after clearing waivers.

I'd be all for trading Braydon Coburn for a good chance at that, and you just know Calgary would overpay and give you that, too.
- JAKEw1234

The kid isn't a secret tho.
Calgary wouldn't split with that draft pick, they where they stand talent wise at the moment.

I tend to agree. I think Holmgren has done a fairly nice job. Wasn't a huge fan of the draft (Hagg aside) but jury is still out obviously.

Good to see the Wings re-loading as they make the trek to the Eastern Conference.

Not to mention the Blue Jackets are threatening to be an NHL team this year.

Could the Flyers just but Scheen in the AHL for opening night be cap compliant and then bring him up next game and LTIR Pronger and be all good. Aka, do we even NEED to do anything more?

They just need him to play less than 25 minutes/game opening night. I think that nixes a big portion of his bonus. But I think, right now, if they LTIR Pronger, they're under...for now.

If they have to they can put Pronger on LTIR day one, no need to send Schenn down.

Interesting I thought you had to pass waivers even on those two-way deals. I thought it was determined by how many games you had played. But I'm not an expert.

The Wings moves? Yes. When does Holland do something dumb? Not very often.
