Good answer. Id take either, though I lean toward Jagr just because he slows things down so much along the boards and creates time/space. Whoever is cheaper
- aosplayo

Jagr and Vinnie

other guys could take a coffee break before the puck gets to the blue line

Yeah, Jagr is a puck control machine. Plus he's a great role model for young and old alike.

Sounds bunk to me too....only reason why I am giving any credence is because whoever this Rich Smith guy is, he seems to have good sources especially when it comes to the flyers....he has called some moves before anyone else
- nonpoint22

honestly I don't know the guy. What else did he call that ended up happening? I'm curious.

I like him a lot. He's a very good player to have with Crosby and Malkin. I have a feeling he will cost more than people think.
- PhillySportsGuy

i like him. he is still very young. still needs to develop an offensive game, but his defensive game is very very solid. if he can be locked up, i think he is a perfect number 3 to have long term. unfortunately, as his offensive stats increase, so will his pay scale. if he goes out and somehow puts up 30 goals 30 assists, then he will probably price himself out though. i see more of a 20 goal 25 assist type season playing solid defense. hopefully he can be retained.

Expect Emery to sign with Flyers. Expect a 1 yr deal. Strategic move to establish starter role and bigger $$ down the road.

if he can stay healthy, thats a good, cost effective move. if injuries crop up, its not like you guys gave up assets or a large deal. and emery looked pretty good last year.

i was personally hoping you guys got connived into being stuck with thomas

12.86 cap hit, or 20% of the cap is the max salary allowed under the CBA.

Well first of this is my first year following him so I don't you to get the idea I have been following him for years.....he called Vinny to us before anyone, this morning he called Alfie to wings hours before it hit the circuit, if Scuderi goes back to Pitt he would be the first to call that.....he actually seems to have his stuff together. If the flyers totally pull a rabbit out of their hat and get E Kane or Ryan then I will follow him forever.....we will see, my true first impression of him will be established after today, but he is off to a good start

numbers like 20G 45P while playing against other teams top lines and without much PP time is worthy of quite a bit. Flyers are in the same position with Matt Read except Read is ufa next season
