The problem with him Pitlck and Martindale and others is that their physical ability allows them to play a great game in junior. I won't be shocked to see Hamilton eventually do something, but how long will that take?
- Lahey

I don't mind Hamilton. At least he's not a headcase like Martindale.

I still feel like Pitlick could be a serviceable AHL-NHL tweener in the bottom 6. Only 21, bad puck luck and all that.

If Hall gets the "C", does Nail get #10 ?

Hope Nail keeps 64, it's a pretty good looking number

Inside the rink is stating that MPS and Hemsky could be gone today in separate deals as well as a D prospect...

Interesting. Hopefully they get decent players back. Maybe some grit with skill?

I know it's not a stretch, but the guy is a hack. He is just throwing out the same poop that's been there for weeks.

"General Manager Craig MacTavish has announced that the Oilers have acquired defenceman Philip Larsen and a 2016 seventh-round draft choice from the Dallas Stars in exchange for Shawn Horcoff."

All the better if he isn't dealt.

The fact that we could have a couple of sub-1million cap relief guys like Hamilton or Pitlick in the lineup if need be is a good emergency plan if cap space gets tight in 2-3 years.

There will be a ton of UFA's in the next few years that will come with a cheap cap hit. Depth players for emergency call ups. Josh Green would be a decent call up as well and a better player.

I'd have to take a look at when he signed his contract and use that (frank)ing waiver chart. I know he hasn't played the 160 games, but he might've used the years up.
- Lahey

4 years since his first contract and 96 games played. For this year, he can be waiver-exempt.

Actually, this is his 5th year coming up, so maybe he does need to pass re-entry waivers...I don't know whether they count the year at the beginning or the end of it...
