I personally hope they do sign Clarkson (even if over payment).
BUT right at 11:01AM ET
Train of thought being other UFA'S that are undecided might bite if McT wants them.
Nystrom out of Dallas would be another cheaper option. |

Clarkson Nuge Eberle has perfect written all over it but at 6 mill I think I pass. Look for a trade. If it's 7 years at 5 mill, I'm okay. Maybe we get 3 good years, 1 solid and then swear at him for the last 3 years. |

i veto the 7yrs. too long. 3-5 years at $5m per max or look elsewhere. i really hope mac-t does not overpay. edm needs that gritty left wingers, but i forbid paying $5.5m per for him. i personally think lucic is even overpaid. |

I don't know about that. I'd need to see some stats to back that up - TheNugeIsHuge
When he played on the right with Hall and Gagner is when he went on that point tear in the last month.
You can say that is more to do with Hall, but it is no coincidence he was playing the position he was most comfortable with either. |

Good deal I guess. Larsen could be a minute eater in the future. Moves the puck pretty well despite not being offensively talented.
Allows us to move on from Nick Schultz at the end of this year if we so choose. |

5.5M for 5 years - Cheech in Texas
a few others i'd look at for 2nd left winger: latendresse, pouliot, stalberg, wild card: joensuu
anyone think malholtra still have what it takes to be a 3c? ideally gordon would be my pick.
skille or nodl for 3rd/4th line right wingers. |

I honestly don't know, but how common is it? I mean seems quite normal for guys to pass the letter on or get dealt nowadays. Especially considering it's taboo to have grinders has captains nowadays. |

ference would be great. i'd inquire about gill, j.schultz, and blum as well. scuderi seem to be heading back to pitts or being overpaid. |

I think it's moreso the fact that a Legacy team like the Oilers had guys like Lowe, Messier, Gretzky and even king of the grinders MacT wear the C and none of them retired with us. Crazy to have such an old-boys club too when none of these guys were lifers.
Red Wings had Yzerman and Lidstrom. Avs had Sakic. I suppose the Stars moved on from Modano, but you'd figure we'd have one. Horcoff was probably our best chance for a while. |

Something has to give on defense. Then again I guess Klefbom to OKC and Potter on waivers clears up the issue. |

Yeah especially because we still need to improve our top 6. I don't think you bring a guy over from Russia if you're not planning on at least playing him bottom pairing. Could Larsen start the year in OKC? |

Meh, I'm okay with that tradition going on. I didn't want Moreau to retire here or Horcoff. Now Taylor Hall is a different story. |

I'd have to take a look at when he signed his contract and use that (frank)ing waiver chart. I know he hasn't played the 160 games, but he might've used the years up. |

I suppose in a league where Iggy and Alfie don't retire with their teams, it's not such a big deal
I'd love to see Hall be that first one! |

Oh we know Yaks will be wearing #10 now- UNLESS we pull a Vancouver and give Horcoffs name and number to the rafters like Trevor Linden Not that I am comparing the 2 but it is somewhat simliar and funny....

Cloutier will write a blog on how he called Nail getting #10......
I love how Mr. Duckface keeps acting like he's some kind of insider. I also find it revolting that Lowetide has stooped to rubbing elbows with Tricky Dick Cloutier. |
