Lets agree that he can play both wings. Now the question is, who best suits this team going forward between Clowe and Clarkson?
I've heard that clowe is a lot like Backes in the dressing room. He's intimidating and ensures his teammates are accountable. In that montage, I saw him fight Matt Greene and pushed his ass around. I saw Greene Bench 425 for 6 back when he was an Oiler.
With all that being said, I think he comes at a slightly better price and shorter term.

Now is Clarkson the better fit? I honestly dont know... I really want someone who compliments our center and winger. His production isn't as important as his influence is on the other two linemates. IMHO

i'd be happy with either/without either

gordon as 3c, smith as 4c.
- deks1

That would be nice, but Stauffer was saying today Lander could be 4C this year, which I don't like. He should have another full year in OKC.

if he ready, i won't hold lander back. signing an extra 4c doesn't hurt and provides depth.

Glack City only got on the right side when Hemsky was hurt and the like 10 games he played with Horcoff and Smyth or whoever it was.
- DTF69

he played on the right side with horcoff and hall / gags and hall as well.

hall, horcs and yaks was the most played line down the home stretch I found on another website

like to find some better numbers though

By then the lines were all over the place with injuries to like 3 of the 4 regular centres and stuff and I stopped paying attention because I didn't know what even

I just know that he started the season on the left side with Gags and Hemsky, then he played a bit on the right, went back left and then BOOM no (frank)ing clue

not even an issue, our core is locked up and we still have alot of cap space, horcoff and gonchar will be gone when we need to re up a few players. i actually like horcoff on our 4th line. upgrade on fiddler and nystrom. and i got a laugh out of the 2016 7thrd pick. larsen will never be an everyday nhler
- NoobasaurusRex

Horcoff is a very serviceable centre, if the fans aren't expecting much then it was a good deal for you guys. I'm impressed MacT got a player and a pick for him... even if they never see the light of the NHL.

Hall and Eberle belong on the same line. Great chemistry. Now theres potential for a 1B line of Yak-RNH-Clarkson
- TheNugeIsHuge

From the time I first watched the highlight reel on Yaks I thought he was destined to play with Hall. We just needed to find the right center for them. Nug and Ebs belong together and it would be magnificent if we could sign a player like Clowe to play with them.

I like Gags but the fact he hasn't signed yet suggests to me that he is asking for too much (maybe he wants more than 5 million.) If that is the case then I would look to trade him for a bigger C or LW (and if it is a LW then move Hall to C).

I think I read every post.

Clarkson yes but will be overpaid...RW we have 3 current RW's plus brown, so that would be weird. Could signal a eberle move? or hemsky

I kinda like Grabovski, a grabo, mps hemsky line would be pretty scary scoring 3rd line.

which would mean we would have to stack the 4th line with biligerant truculent pugilists who can all play.. like 3 Gregory campbells.

Clowe seems like a better fit with this team, agreed by many posters.

Is there absolutely any Left side number 1 d men available? Yandle talk has been quiet...Orpik? .. free agents ference and scuderi are ideal... is pieterangelo in any way available?

(frank) Clarkson, find a god damn center.

Christ man, the Stars got 3 today and they already had Jamie (frank)ing Benn.

Wonder if Filpula would come here.

If we could get Weiss to sign here for under 5mill, Id joy-jizz myself. Then try to grab a guy like Clowe (or maybe Stalberg) and a few bottom 6ers like Lapierre, Gordon, and Larose to go along with a backup goalie (Labarbara) and Id be stoked! Add another NHL Dman (Gilbert, Ballard, Gill, Hainsey, or Scuderi come to mind) and a few more under-the-radar signings (Summers, Blum, and perhaps Wellwood) to top it off and Id be ready for the season.

(frank) I just want the Frenzy to start

Benn was also in the same situation as Seguin and now is going back to the wing.

Mac T in Oil Change said last year you have to be very careful not to do something stupid in free agency. I hope he still holds that idea. Get Clarkson, but not for more than 5 mill.

Also get us a couple centres.

Little doubt David Clarkson will get a 7 year term. Some gm's think he will get $6 mil or higher per. #TSN
