This roster has Philly with 1.858mil of cap space, without using LTIR for Pronger, and signing Emery to a 2.5mil cap hit. I fail to see A) any need to trade anyone else, and B) how having almost 2mil in cap space before LTIR is being in "cap trouble". Thanks for coming out.

Timonen, Schenn, Coburn, and Grossmann are solid defensively. Streit may not be the greatest, and Gus is still young and will be prone to mistakes. I fail to see how 2 of 6 being less than stellar defensively qualifies the defense as horrible. The TEAM defense caused many of the issues, Lavy made some adjustments towards the end of the season that helped.

In their defense (no pun intended) every single starter missed time. At one point Timonen, Meszaros, Coburn, and Grossmann were not just injured but out for the remainder of the season. Then you'd still have to account for sieve-galov in net.

They do need a puck mover (too many stay at home defenders). I like the streit signing. Time will tell.

From the games I watched, their D was poor in coverage. I saw guys like Schenn and Grossman out of position. Their poor GAA is not entirely on the goaltending. Talent wise sure those guys are solid but they need a bounce back year.
