Ericksson is better than Seguin? not sure about that.

At this point in their careers, yes, 100%.
Eriksson has towed the same or higher point per game average for the last few years, and on top of that is known for his defensive play - this guy could be yet another future selke candidate on Boston, along with Bergeron.
Probably will join Bergy and Toews in the perennial Selke nom club once Datsyuk retires.
Now, will Seguin become even better in Dallas with increased responsibility? Yes, I think so - he may well flourish into a top 15 scorerdown there.
Where I think the deal was won, though, is in the details by Boston:
-Aside from Eriksson, they managed to snag 3 good prospects: Joe Morrow, who projects as a top 4 defenseman if not a top 2 defenseman in his prime, Reilly Smith, who looks like he'll blend in really nicely in the Bruins bottom 6 before long (probably an immediate cheaper replacement for Peverly), and this Matt Fraser kid looks like a dark horse to be a top 6 scorer, similar to Ryder in his shoot-first kind of game. Absolutely ridiculous goal totals at every level of hockey he's played.
-You also have to consider the fit - Boston traded a guy who by all accounts wasn't blending in to that locker room, for a guy who fits the Bruins playing style to a T.
-Money wise, the Bruins desperately needed to save cap space. They moved out Seguin's 5.7 million for a player who will probably do better than Seguin in their system, who only costs 4.2 against the cap. On top of that, they managed to shove off Peverly's overpaid 3.2 mill, giving them even more space and opening up a position for one of their prospects.
Boston wins this deal easily, much like they've won most deals with Chiarelli at the helm.
