Cloutier seems to think that players are ready by virtue of being in the draft. Someone tell him about the AHL. - Jeffmt
Sweet baby jesus don't tell him about the AHL as it seems he has forgotten all about that league. Remember last year when the tried to blog about the AHL during the lockout? Was like watching Gary Coleman talk about what was on the top shelf of the cereal aisle, like he had any (frank)ing clue. |

Until you, and MacT, get off the notion that the Oilers have 47 "untouchable" players on their roster, you will not see any change. There needs to be some balance. If a player like Seguin can get traded today, so can a player like Eberle etc. You have to make your best deal when something presents itself.
The difference is we don't have a cap situation yet and Boston has many other players from lines 1-4 that are all capable of playing good hockey. We on the other hand have 6-7 forwards that meet the same requirements and all our KIDS are in that group. So you don't part with what's right you add and replace the pieces to corre t the other 6-7 spots. Horcoff can have a role but really do you think smyth should be here over horcoff. Not a chance.

Don't know why you complain about MacT, just as you complained about Tamb. They, and you, are all drinking the same Koolaid.

In retail, you can never fall in love with your product. Same applies here. All you want to do is trade rowboats for battleships - oh, and don't forget Horcoff and Hemsky. They remind me of the great Ryder, Halak and a 2nd for just about anybody every rumored deal that every Hab fan used to sing about Those two are just about untradeable. Buy them out if you can't get anything for them. These buyouts only last this season and next, so you better use them up! - Old Pappy
??? You been drinking Cloutier's koolaid. MacT said everyone's available for the right price. |

When has mact ever said he has 47 untouchables? Or any for that matter?
Get some new material people. - hugefemale dog77
MacT hasn't said that. But I think it's fair to say its common knowledge that most oiler fans... not all... think you have maybe 4-5 untouchables... |

Yes, and it's common knowledge that all deals must be approved by Oiler fans in a vote on the oiler website. |

All players have a price. But you build a core by not trading certain players. |

Cloutier does not speak for oiler fans.
Suggesting oiler fans would rather attempt to keep the kids and build around their core rather than through in no way means they feel anyone's untouchable
If by 'common knowledge' u mean just another fallacy created on hb from reading cloutier blogs... Then yes, it's common knowledge |

Anyone can be traded for the right price. Look at Seguin today, I certainly did not think he was going to be moved after Horton left. |

But Seguin is also expendable because Boston has a very solid lineup and was in a cap crunch. The Oilers management is trying to build around these core players and unless they get an offer that knocks their socks off there is no point in trading away the Oilers core pieces. Notice I did not say untouchable.

EDM too RT @TheFourthPeriod: Going to be interesting to see what type of dollars a team offers David Clarkson. Leafs, Sens all over him.
I think we'd be third on the list. Fact that the other two made the playoffs may give the advantage. |

Anyways today Bob Stauffer mention at the end of his show that the Oilers still have time to do a buyout (Horcoff) but MacT trying to trade him before doing that but there's time so yeah bye bye Horcoff. |

I keep hearing that Evander Kane is on the market. If so I hope we make a serious push for him. He would be amazing on this team. The top 6 LW we need that is tough and puts up points. He's young so he would fit right in. Plus its more BBC so Laughs and his sister will both be exstatic. It would take a serious offer. I'm thinking Paajarvi, 2014 1st rounder, and Marincin
I think Paajarvi and Marincin are both going to be really good players in this league and the only way I'd trade either one is if a player the caliber of Kane was coming back in return. |

Best part about all of this is that, Cloutier, you still think Edmonton's best bet at winning is icing 20 25 and unders. You need veterans, quality veterans, especially on defence. This isn't NHL13. |

Agreed, it would not make sense for the Oilers to trade a young star unless the return was out of this world. You're right Seguin was expendable on the Bruins because with or without him they are a Stanley Cup contender. |
