AA is pretty good man. miss that dude a lot. that's a really, really deep lineup man. sum of all parts kind of squad with some star power and snipers there. i'm not sure you realize how much potential atkinson and johansen have either. - rangerdanger94
I miss AA's interviews. This one cracks me up every time. "Patience...Patience!"

in my dreams sather pulls of 2 trades this offseason and clears pyatt, asham and powe's contracts the two trades i would like would be something like/
TOR: zucc, lindberg
NYR: colborne (great, very big ,wheeler-like prospect, can play wing or center)
PHI: DZ, bourque
NYR: simmonds (guy lives in front of the net and will stand up for his teammates, great cap hit also)
i know NY and philly normally won't trade but the flyers need to shed salary for next year and need defense and we need offense so don't think about the rivalry for a moment and just make that trade
nash-brassard-cally
kreider-stepan-simmonds
hagelin-richards-miller
jean-boyle-dorsett
colborne
Mcd-girardi
moore-staal
mcilrath-stralman
falk
hank
biron
it will fit within our cap space and if richards sucks we use colborne as our 3C and there you have your cup contender |

Larry Brooks today says Rangers are making push to sign Dominic Moore as the 4th line center, who is considering coming back to the league and that discussions have already begun.
If the Moore thing doesn't happen, they could make a move for Maxim Lapierre.

also from LB:
"The Rangers could use depth on defense as well, though they seem to be prepared to enter the season with the current seven-man group consisting of Dan Girardi, Ryan McDonagh (presuming he is re-signed), Marc Staal (believed recovering well from his eye injury), Anton Stralman, Michael Del Zotto, John Moore and Justin Falk"
this I don't believe, because this is 5 lefty D and 2 righty, although I am sure McIlrath will fight for a spot and he is righty.
It's encouraging to see him say Staal is recovering well. |

I like that move
BTW now with Giroux's extension, how the hell is Philly going to stay under the cap and have a deep team? Holmgren is a joke, he's making Sather look good and that's not so easy |

You're giving more value to Toronto than Philly but getting back someone who is just emerging, Philly is not getting rid of Simmonds and if they were to it wouldn't be to us, he's a key part of that core with Giroux, Coutourier and Vorochek

So with Sather letting everyone spend buckets of money on a weaker FA class , who thinks we're gonna see the Sedins in NY next July? I do! |

I don't think it's impossible, the thought of the Sedins in NY next year. Lots of factors point in that direction.
For one, they have been playing in Vancouver for 14 years, the team with hardest travel and probably would love to come to the team with the easiest travel.
There is Vigneault.
There is Lundqvist, who will try to win gold with them once again for Sweden in 6 months and I am sure he is pretty close with them.
The cap is going up next year and the big spending teams are shooting their loads this season.
They will probably want to get away from Torts.
It's definitely possible. |
|
|
|
Geez, completely forgot they got him.
Whitney, Benn, Horton
Cole, Seguin, Nichushkin
Nystrom, Eakin, Peverley
Oh and throw Horcoff in the mix now
damn!! - aecliptic
Horton is a little overrated. We are going to find this out as soon as he isn't on as strong a team as Boston is. |

The Rangers will have the cap space but they would have to also ship out a few key pieces, just to make room for them to step in here.
Obviously, Richards will be one of them, as he will certainly be bought out next summer but who else?
Dan Sedin is a left winger, correct? So that means sticking Hagelin on the third line wing, leave Kreider on the second line left side...on second thought, you know what, this makes more sense as I type. |

so much has to happen, number 1 being the Canucks let them walk as UFA's, probably the most difficult thing to actually happen at this point.

The biggest thing will be their willingness to leave Vancouver, for sure. But, if they do, you would have to think the Rangers would be the favorite to get them, due to Vigneault mainly but also their connection to Hank and the fact they would want to play for a contender. |

and DZ is also just emerging |

Noon today is going to be chaos with a bunch if deals being announced at once. Going to have to bring my I-Phone into the Atlantic Ocean with me. |

I am at work, which sucks but the office is empty and I will be hitting the refresh button on TSN like a madman. |

I heard the Flyers are preparing to offer him a five year deal plus stock options on Comcast. |

Funny, but while the day will be boring for us, which is unusual, it's the perfect year not to get heavily involved. |

Outside of the guys mentioned by Brooke's, I would put my money on Hendricks or Cooke today. |

I expect a forward depth signing today, which is fine. Brooks is reporting the Rangers are on the verge of bringing back Dominic Moore. According to the article, they were ready to sign him last season but due to the tragedy of Moore's wife's passing, he took the year off entirely.
I read reports that the Rangers were also interested in Eric Nystrom, free agent winger from Dallas. |

I hear Cooke to Toronto, big time. Hendricks would be a very good signing though, good utility player. |

As much as I'm OK with not resigning Clowe, I am on the fence with him signing in NJ, 1. I would hate to see him have any success in NJ being a former Ranger wether it was for 10 games or not 2.He's slow as crap and would love to see NJ waste money on him. |

If they are going after Moore I don't think we'll be seeing Hendricks but that's who I'd rather have, so if we do sign Moore does that mean Boyle to wing or is he a trade option? |
