Sorry dude, it makes sense though, if you think about it. Devils are almost guaranteed to lose Clarkson to Toronto tomorrow and they seem to be ready to spend some money.

Clowe is looking to cash in, with a sucker team, knowing that this year's free agent market is ample time for a player like him to hit the jackpot. Seems like a perfect match.

This is a great thing, allowing a few $m in extra cap space and giving Lindberg/Fast/Kristo/FA room to help instead of being blocked all season by dead weight. I wonder if AV will go after Raymond for 3-4m since he knows him. I wouldn't mind Stalberg either.

Addition of Gilbert and a LW via DZ trade isn't a bad idea. We keep saying wheeler for DZ. Nash goes to LW so wheeler can play RW

Nash-Stepan-wheeler
MZA-Richards-Callahan
Kreider-brassard-hagelin
Pyatt-Boyle-Dorsett
Kristo/fast/Lindberg

Mcd-girardi
Staal-strahlman
Moore-Gilbert
Falk

- Slimtj100

I could live with that lineup, without a doubt.

don't think this will work salary cap wise. gilbert will command anywhere between 3-4.5 million and wheeler 4-5 million while only shipping out MDZ who makes 2.5 million. f gilbert and let mcilrath play!

Hearing Nystrom form Dallas is on the radar. He won't cost as much as Raymond and he has played well over there the last two seasons.

Yea I figured they'd look at him. I was hoping he would go to another division at least though if he stayed in the east.

Really good option for the third line. He has size and his overall game rounded out well in Dallas.

No sweat off my back. The Devils are likely to be a team that will struggle just to make the playoffs next season.

Clowe, even if he does contribute over there, isn't a player I will lose sleep over.

I forgot miller. So I guess we could dump Boyle along with powe and asham. Miller is the 4th line center

The options are all of a sudden not so limited. I have a feeling in my gut the Rangers are going to make a substantial trade and now they have a little bit of cap space to play with.

All I want to see the Rangers do tomorrow is go for a solid depth winger or a right handed defenseman; whichever fits the budget.

It is that easy, however Sather is busy playing golf and smoking cigars with Richie.

naah WPG will tell u to go F yourself if you offer up a dman for wheeler. they don't need any dmen. especially puck moving ones like MDZ.

The pyatt asham type signings in hindsight were pretty dumb. Prust at 2.5 would've equaled it in money and wiuldve brought so much more its rudiculous. Very frustrating and I can't let it go

I don't think Sather is out to lunch. Even if he was, Gorton is likely all over it, as he was last summer, in the Nash deal.

There is only so much you can do when you have limited space to make a move. Besides, the summer barely started, show some faith. All good things come in due time.

hah yea right. bogosian = MDZ and wheeler >>>>>>>> miller & st. croix.

maybe if we throw in kreider.

again man, this isn't nhl 13 where you can match up trade values and it'll work. wpg will only trade a young core player for an overpayment that we won't like. it's like that with any trade we think up. otherwise there would be at least 1 trade every day.

That won't work, fiscally anyway. I do like both Bogosian and Wheeler though and would be okay with the exchange, as long as it doesn't destroy their cap situation.
