EKlund, why not get someone who knows something about Western conference rumours? Doesn't seem like you have any sources in the west... |

Remind me how strong e3 is again? What would the wings have to give up? A lot of their guys are unproven with little value and I love the wings lol I expect a lot of picks...I heard smith being named in the edler trade proposition which surprises me. Maybe emmerton smith a first and a second |
|

And the 8 yr term? At least Kip's was a 6 yr with only 1 of those being a cheat yr.
I don't see why a team commits more than 5 yrs to any player. Even Malkin and Crosby with their concussion history. Such a high risk - FLflames34
I do agree here. I think any 5+ year deal has such great risk that they should be avoided at all costs. However, with stars like Giroux, 8 year deals might be unavoidable |

Hopefully the ducks would never do that. They need proven roster players over picks. |

Gotta think we'll see the Leafs sign Weiss or Riberio now.

Then who? Cleary isn't signed, fil is gone, Sammy and Bert are old and beat up, dats and Z aren't leaving...franzen would be the only guy |

Exactly why I don't want to trade with you guys. I'd start with Dekeyser to be honest. |

Corey Perry and Ryan Getzlaf, both 28, getting 8 yr deals is the definition of depreciating assets. For 1, maybe 2 yrs, they will honor the contract. From there? Who knows, but I can't see them getting better to earn 8+m a yr.
Those two are the definition of what should have been a 5 yr deal. |

@DarrenDreger: Huge trade in the works. Boston and Dallas close on a deal sending Tyler Seguin to Stars for Loui Eriksson. Other parts involved as well. |

Briere Still Undecided.
I am told a decision is very likely tonight and it appears down to two or three teams...Hearing Montreal and Nashville appear in the front...NJ and Washington are also possibles...

Small market teams don't have a choice but to sign their star players to eight year contracts. Only thing that entices them to stay. |

I think it's a good fit for both teams.
Dallas needs a center bad, Boston gets a right winger that can score |

Problem is guys like Bruner and nyquist Tatar Anderson don't have a lot of trade value even though they are talented...you guys have good young forwards with etem and palmeri so if anything I see us trading you d men and picks. Maybe smith emmerton a prospect and a pick |

Yeah that's a great trade for both potentially. Certainly that's a far better replacement for Horton than signing Clarkson or whatever they had in mind. |

I love this move for Boston. Loui will help tremendously on the RW. He can play both ends of the ice. Hopefully it goes through |

Brunner is a free agent and I'd bet money he signs with someone else |
