I love how much chatter there is elsewhere about Briere to Buffalo but none in EK's reports. Someone, somewhere, is wrong.

I personally think he ends up with Montreal or Washington. But then, I don't have sources.

I listened to an interview with Briere on Sportsnet 590 The Fan this morning and he didn't say to which team he was going to but he did say that he's only looking for a 2 to max 3 year deal. That team, he would prefer to be a contender and that is close to Philly, since he's not going to move due to family reasons.

I get that the move gives them cap relief, but to trade away a player with the talent and potential of Seguin is just dumb unless it's a trade that can't be turned down. I don't view this as a trade that makes the Bruins obviously better.

Leafs should've offered Vinny 2 years at 5.8 a year. Still waiting on a #1 center man and its been a while since I've seen #13.

Um, Peverley et al are part of the return from the Stars, that has nothing to do with the Leafs.

And Kessel's still the best player out of both those deals.

At the moment...and for the last two years Kessel is better. How many seasons will go by before Seguin passes him? Who knows?

What we DO know, is that it is not now.

Whats dumb is some people fail to understand that there is a reason behind such a move..Grabo is a decent player and bring alot to the table,is it 5.5 mill worth tho?Not a chance..Grabo thrived under wilson's system and was putting up decent points and was a solid work horse that you couldnt keep down.Being as the system has changed when Carlyle took over and the players could not play the run and gun style anymore and had to focus more on the def side of the game it showed in Grabo's game..So why not use the second buyout and put the money towards a hole..The move is a tell tale sign the leafs have something done but cant announce it yet..

Remember it was Sunday that Nonis said Grabo would be back with the team and have to improve his game to keep his ice time..No one is going to be handed big mins without earning them...He also stated he does not forsee using the 2nd buyout this season.. So i believe a quick change like this could only mean 1 thing and that is he was able to put a deal together that would improve us over Grabo..

Kessel had two less points then Seguin during the postseason. Seguin played 22 games, Kessel played 7. Kessel scored 4 goals, Seguin 1. If Seguin was better then Kessel, they wouldn't have traded Seguin.

Your pulling at straws here. You can't link players who had nothing to do with the trade to begin with. Jared Knight isn't even a top prospect for Boston and Dougie Hamilton was underwhelming to say the least after all the hype the Boston media gave him.

Loui Eriksson is a good player, not in the same class as Kessel at all, most logical Boston fans would also admit this.

Yeah because Kessel whose a career -36 is just spectacular right? As opposed to Seguins +53. That being said, Seguin has the potential to put up just as many points and is already a better defensive player. Seguin>Kessel.

Oh geez. Another Toronto fan who thinks they are the all knowledgable. An underrated stat should be noticed more than goals and assists. Yes, it is totally excusable that you are on the ice for more goals against than goals for. Oh, and lets not forget that Seguin was buried on the third line. You guys go ahead and ride your first playoff appearance in 10 years. Your heads were already big enough, this is just what we all needed.
