Ok so let's debate the needs. IMO #1 need and has been for awhile is a player who plays in your top six, can shake off the mitts, and can play the physical game against big division rivals. Clarkson not only does this but has two solid scoring seasons that are current not in the past. - honesthockey
$6,000,000 though?

If that's the cost it is. If it fixes a huge hole it's worth it. If he doesn't work move him.

#1 is a #1 centre.
I think we sign Clarkson.
I think we pay a little too much.
I think he becomes a fan favourite. |

Don't be so naive, I'm not saying that it's a yearly basis but it would ignorant to assume that what they pay players doesn't affect what we pay them. |

I gave him a chance to apologize, I was being charitable to let him stay for free agency.
Btw, Bruce, I promised the little one we do something tomorrow, she is going stir crazy, I don't know how much I will be here. |

Ya but Leaf fans live in the bizarro world. When the Leafs fail to make the playoffs like 24 times in the last 45 years, Leaf bosses's raise ticket prices & the fans keep paying. |

Interesting to note about clarkson that he didn't really get an oppurtunity in a scoring role until deboer became coach. Deboer was his junior coach and knew he was being used inefficiently. |

That's very reasonable, maybe even slightly overpaid. But when do things ever work out to be reasonable in free agency. |

I hope you're right. Paying too much is a given. But if he becomes a fan favourite that means good things are happening.
(frank) at this point a second playoffs in a row would make me beat off |

Clarkson has a useful skillset, just depends on contract. Its either pay for Bozak to stay or clarkson to come. It sounds like bozak is asking for 8yr 4.5+ per year. I just see leafs wishing they had a buyout before too long. If clarkson is after a more reasonable term length, I'd rather got that route |

AGREED. So far so good for Nonis. He hasn't stupidly over paid for anyone yet & hasn't made a bad trade yet. |

Others won't agree with me, but I don't think 5 million is overpaid for Clarkson. Guy can do just about everything you need him to.

Salaries have gone down, then up for six straight years, then down again.
In that time, tix remained frozen, then up 2% this year.
There is no correlation whatsoever.
I get you took an intro to biz class.
But time to put down the textbook and look at the facts. |
